HomeMy WebLinkAbout6543 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1980/04/21April 21, 1980 RESOLUTION NO. 6543 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PLACEMENT OF TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNS ESTABLISHING FIRE LANES AT 5525 CEDAR LAKE ROAD - NORTHWEST TENNIS/SWIM CLUB WHEREAS, the City of St. Louis Park has caused a traffic analysis to be made on certain public or private property within the City with respect to fire lane designation, and WHEREAS, the results as analyzed by the Engineering Department and the Fire Department of the City indicate that the following limitations on parking are required on the hereinafter described areas in order that the travel of fire equipment may not be interfered with and the access to fire hydrants to buildings may not be blocked off, and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1084, adopted November 17, 1969, by the City Council provides for the installation of traffic control signs when and as required by resolution of the City Council, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park as follows: 1. The following areas are hereby designated as fire lanes: The east and west side of the entrance to 5525 Cedar Lake Road, from Cedar Lake Road to a point 481 feet south along the west side of the entrance and 447 feet south along the east side of the entrance; The north and south sides of the main driveway parallel and immediately in front of building at 5525 Cedar Lake Road. Designation on the north side of the driveway begins 251 feet south of Cedar Lake Road and extends to a point 430 feet east. Designation on the south side of this same driveway begins 286 feet south of the main entrance from Cedar Lake Road and extends to a point 480 feet east; The north and south sides of the access road parallel to building 5525 Cedar Lake Road located 447 feet south of the entrance to Cedar Lake Road. Designation begins at this point and extends east 165 feet to the west wall of building 5525 Cedar Lake Road. Designation for the south side of this access road in front of the building begins 70 feet east of the north -south entrance road extending to a point 120 feet east. 2. The City Engineer and the owners of the property involved are hereby authorized and directed to install fire lane signs of approved type setting limits on parkingas required by ordinance.
