HomeMy WebLinkAbout6542 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1980/04/21RESOLUTION NO. 6542 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PLACEMENT OF TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNS ESTABLISHING FIRE LANES AT AQUILA APARTMENT BUILDINGS AT 8150, 8216, 8224, 8330 and 8308 W.302 STREET WHEREAS, the City of St. Louis Park has caused a traffic analysis to be made on certain public or private property within the City with respect to fire lane designation, and WHEREAS, the results as analyzed by the Engineering Department and the Fire Department of the City indicate that the following limitations on parking are required on the hereinafter described areas in order that the travel of fire equipment may not be interfered with and the access to fire hydrants to buildings may not be blocked off, and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1084, adopted November 17, 1969, by the City Council provides for the installation of traffic control signs when and as required by resolution of the City Council, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park as follows: 1. The following areas are hereby designated as fire lanes: The west side of the entrance to the parking lot west of 8308 West 302 Street from West 302 Street to a point 31 feet north; The east side of that same parking lot from 302 Street north to the north side of the building, then east 81 feet; The west side and part of the east side of the cul-de-sac between buildings 8308 and 8330 West 30' Street, starting at the west side of the entrance north 378 feet to the east side of the same entrance; Also the curb around the center of the same cul-de-sac a distance of 166 feet; The curbs immediately north of building 8330 and 8224 West 302 Street for distances of 85 feet and 88 feet respectively; The entrance to the parking lot between building 8330 and 8224 West 302 Street from West 302 Street to a point 20 feet north on both the east and west sides of this entrance; The entrance to the cul-de-sac between building 8224 and 8216 West 302 Street, starting at West 302 Street north along the east side of this entrance 366 feet around the cul-de-sac to the west side of it; Also the curb around the center of the same cul-de-sac a distance of 166 feet; The west side of the parking lot and the east and west side of the entrance between buildings 8216 and 8150 West 302 Street, beginning at West 30' Street to a point 283 feet north along the west side of the parking lot entrance and continuing west 89 feet along the north side of building 8216 West 302 Street, and the east side of the same entrance from West 302 Street to a point 15 feet south; The west side of the parking lot and the east and west side of the entrance to the parking lot between building 8150 West 302 Street and Utah Avenue, beginning at West 302 Street thence north 143 feet along the west side of this parking lot, and beginning at the east side of the entrance to this parking lot from West 302 Street to a point 38 feet north. 2. The City Engineer and the owners of the property involved are hereby authorized and directed to install fire lane signs of approved type setting limits on parking as required by ordinance.
