HomeMy WebLinkAbout6514 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1980/03/031 March 3, 1980 RESOLUTION NO. 6514 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF PROPERTY FOR STREET RIGHT OF WAY WHEREAS, the City Council of St. Louis Park has authorized and directed the City Manager to negotiate with Bonneich M. Christy and Jack F. Christy, wife and husband, for the purchase of the fee title to the land hereinafter described, for public uses, and WHEREAS, Bonneich M. Christy and Jack F. Christy, wife and husband, pursuant to such negotiations, have indicated their desire to sell said property to the City by Warranty Deed and Construction Easements for the sum of $1,877.00, now therefore BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of St. Louis Park that the City of St. Louis Park purchase from Bonneich M. Christy and Jack F. Christy, wife and husband, the following described property in Hennepin County, Minnesota, to -wit: Fee Title The Southerly four (4) feet of Lot 1, Block 1, Brooklawns Construction Easement No. 1 The Northerly ten (10) feet of the Southerly fourteen (14) feet of the Southerly fourteen (14) feet of Lot 1, Block 1, Brooklawns Construction Easement No. 2 over That part of the following described property: That part of Lot "B" lying Southwesterly of a line extending from a point on the Northwesterly line of Lot "B" distant 98.8 feet Northeasterly along the said Northwesterly line from the Northwest corner of Lot "B" to a point on the Southeasterly line of Lot "B" distant 158.8 feet North- easterly along the Southeasterly line from the most Southerly corner of Lot "B" in Block 3, "Brooklawns", according to the plat filed in the Office of the Registrar of Titles, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Which lies Northerly of the following described line: Commencing at a point in the Easterly line of the above described parcel, 3 feet Northerly of the Southeast corner thence Westerly parallel to the Southeasterly line a distance of 110 feet thence continuing Westerly to a point in the Westerly line 20 feet Northerly of the Southwest corner and there terminating. And Southerly of the following described line: Commencing at a point in the Easterly line of said parcel 13 feet Northerly of the Southeast corner thence Westerly parallel to the Southerly line a distance of 110 feet thence continuing Westerly to a point in the West line 30 feet North of the Southwest corner and there terminating. -2— and the Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized to execute any and all instruments necessary to complete the purchase of said property and the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to accept delivery of the deed and to pay the sum of $1,877.00 from the Special Assessment Fund to said Bonneich M. Christy and Jack F. Christy, wife and husband, as the purchase price of said property upon the delivery to them of a Warranty Deed to said property accompanied by an Abstract of Title or Owner's Certificate of Title showing good and marketable title of record to said property, together with an opinion of the Law Department of the City of St. Louis Park approving the execution of the deed and the seller's abstract or certificate.
