A RESOLUTION GRANTING PERMIT UNDER SECTION 14-124.100
OF THE ST. LOUIS PARK ORDINANCE CODE RELATING TO
ZONING TO PERMIT AN EXPANSION MEASURING APPROXIMATELY
FIVE FEET WIDE AND 21 FEET DEEP FOR PROPERTY LOCATE[)
IN THE PUD, PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT AT
4950 EXCELSIOR BOULEVARD
BE IT RESOLVED BY the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park:
Findings
1. Zip Printing has made application to the City Council for a special
permit under Section 14-124.100 of the St. Louis Park Ordinance Code for the
purpose of permitting an expansion measuring approximately five feet wide
and 21 feet deep adjacent to the northeast corner of their building to store
chemicals in connection with their printing operation located at 4950 Excel-
sior Boulevard for the legal description as follows, to -wit:
Beginning in the centerline of Excelsior Avenue in
the Village of St. Louis Park, which point is 206.25
feet northeasterly measured along centerline of said
road from its intersection with the west line of the
NE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of said Section 7; thence at
right angles northwesterly 310 feet; thence at right
angles southwesterly 71.6 feet more or less, to the
west line of said NE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of said
Section 7; thence southerly along said west line
of the NE 1/4 of NW 1/4 to the centerline of
Excelsior Avenue; thence northeasterly along the
centerline of said Excelsior Avenue 206.25 to the
point of beginning. Subject to highway purposes over
the southeasterly 50 feet tnereof.
2. The City Council has considered the advice and recommendation of the
Planning Commission (Case No. 79 -96 -SP) and the effect of the proposed
expansion on the health, safety and welfare of the occupants of the surrounding
lands, existing and anticipated traffic conditions, the effect on values of
properties in the surrounding area, the effect of the use on the Comprehensive
Plan, and compliance with the intent of the Zoning Ordinance.
3. The Council has determined that the proposed expansion will not be
detrimental to the health, safety or general welfare of the community nor
will it cause serious traffic congestion nor hazards, nor will it seriously
depreciate surrounding property values, and the proposed expansion is in
harmony with the general purpose and intent of the Zoning Ordinance and the
Comprehensive Plan.
Conclusion
The special permit to permit an expansion measuring approximately five feet
wide and 21 feet deep adjacent to the northeast corner of Zip Printing's
building to store chemicals in connection with their printing operation
is granted based on the findings set forth above and subject to the following
conditions:
1. The north and west sides of the building will be refurbished
to correct existing deficiencies.
2. That all improvements as shown on the Site Plan, including
landscaping of setback area, shall be completed by May 15, 1980.
