A RESOLUTION GRANTING PERMIT UNDER SECTION 14-171(6)(z)
OF THE ST. LOUIS PARK ORDINANCE CODE RELATING TO ZONING TO
PERMIT AN OUTDOOR STORAGE YARD FOR CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS
FOR PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE I-1 INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT AT 6500
OXFORD STREET.
BE IT RESOLVED BY the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park:
Findings
1. Lyle Sommers, Ceram-Traz Corporation, has made application to the
City Council for a special permit under Section 14-171(6)(z) of the St. Louis
Park Ordinance Code for the purpose of permitting an outdoor storage yard for
construction materials located at 6500 Oxford Street for the legal description
as follows, to -wit:
Lots 17, 18 and 19, Block 21, Rearrangement of St. Louis Park.
2. The City Council has considered the advise and recommendation of the
Planning Commission (Case No. 78 -98 -SP) and the effect of the proposed outdoor
storage yard on the health, safety and welfare of the occupants of the surrounding
lands, existing and anticipated traffic conditions, the effect on values of
properties in the surrounding area, the effect of the use on the Comprehensive
Plan, and complaince with the intent of the Zoning Ordinance.
3. The Council has determined that the outdoor storage yard will not
be detrimental to the health, safety or general welfare of the community nor will
it cause serious traffic congestion nor hazards, nor will it seriously depreciate
surrounding property values, and the proposed outdoor storage yard is in harmony
with the general purpose and intent of the Zoning Ordinance and the Comprehensive
Plan.
Conclusion
The special permit to permit an outdoor storage yard at the location described
is granted based on the findings set forth above (and subject to the following
conditions):
1. The outdoor storage yard shall be located on the northerly
side of the building at 6500 Oxford Street and shall be
attached to the building. It shall have the dimensions of
32 feet by 26 feet and shall not exceed 832 square feet in area.
The floor of the storage yard shall be concrete. The yard shall
be enclosed with a six-foot high chain link fence.

3. Storage within the yard shall be limited to empty containers.
None of the empty containers shall have had Class I or
Class II flammables (as defined by the U. S. Department of
Transportation) as their contents. All applicable local,
state, and federal codes shall be complied with in the
installation of the storage area.
4. Installation of the storage yard shall be completed by January 1, 1979.
