ORDINANCF CODE RELATING TO ZONING TO
PERMIT A TEMPORARY OUTDOOR DISPLAY
AND SALES AREA FOR PROPERTY LOCATED IN
THE R-2 BUSINESS DISTRICT LOCATED AT
6905 WAYZATA BOULEVARD
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK:
Findings
1. Crosstown Marine has made application to the City Council for
a special permit under Section 14-156(6) of the St. Louis Park Ordinance
Code for the purpose of permitting an outdoor display and sales area for
boats located at 6905 Wayzata Boulevard, for the legal description as
follows, to -wit:
Lots 117, 118, 119, and 230, Richmond Addition, except
that part taken for highway and Lots 120 and 121,
Richmond Addition, and the north two feet of Lot 122,
Richmond Addition.
2. The City Council has considered the advice and recommendation
of the Planning Commission (Case No. 78 -91 -SP) and the effect of the pro-
posed outdoor sales area on the health, safety, and welfare of the occupants
of the surrounding land, existing and anticipated traffic conditions, the
effect on values of properties in the surrounding area, and the effect of
the use on the Comprehensive Plan, and compliance with the intent of the
Zoning Ordinance.
3. The City Council has determined that outdoor sales and display
is a land use which is not consistent with the intent of the Comprehensive
Plan as it relates to development along Highway 12 and major thoroughfares
and has determined that the long-term use of land for outdoor sales and
storage purposes may be detrimental to the long-range development of the
area, however, on an interim basis, the use can be considered without
setting a precedence for the establishment of similar uses in the area.
