A RESOLUTION GRANTING PERMIT UNDER SECTION 14-171(6)(z)
OF THE ST. LOUIS PARK ORDINANCE CODE RELATING TO ZONING
TO PERMIT AN OUTDOOR STORAGE YARD FOR AUTOMOBILES FOR
PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE I-1 INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT AT
6670 OXFORD STREET
BE IT RESOLVED BY the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park:
Findings
1. Western Account Service Inc. has made application to the City Council
for a special permit under Section 14-171(6)(z) of the St. Louis Park Ordinance
Code for the purpose of permitting an outdoor storage yard for automobiles
located at 6670 Oxford Street South for the legal description as follows,
to -wit:
Lot 2, Allan Garrison Addition
2. The City Council has considered the advice and recommendation of
the Planning Commission (Case No. 78 -39 -SP) and the effect of the proposed
outdoor storage of automobiles on the health, safety and welfare of the
occupants of the surrounding lands, existing and anticipated traffic
conditions, the effect on values of properties in the surrounding area,
the effect of the use on the Comprehensive Plan, and compliance with the
intent of the Zoning Ordinance.
3. The Council has determined that the proposed outdoor storage of
automobiles will not be detrimental to the health, safety or general welfare
of the community nor will it cause serious traffic congestion nor hazards,
nor will it seriously depreciate surrounding property values, and the
proposed outdoor storage of automobiles is in harmony with the general
purpose and intent of the Zoning Ordinance and the Comprehensive Plan.
Conclusion
The special permit to permit outdoor storage of automobiles at the location
described is granted based on the findings set forth above and subject to
the following conditions:
1. That the site shall be developed, used, and
maintained in accordance with Exhibit A, Site
Plan; a fence shall be constructed around the
site seven feet in height, and the southerly
and westerly sides of the fence shall be screened
with decorative slats so that it is opaque.
ATTEST:
2. No material shall be stored within the fenced area
which is above the height of the fence.
3. The curb cut and paved driveway shall be provided
from Oxford Street to the fenced area, and the curb
cut shall not be more than thirty feet in width.
4. The site shall be continuously maintained in accord-
ance with the above conditions.
5. The site shall not be occupied until the Director of
Public Works has approved a drainage plan for the
site.
6. The site shall be landscaped in accordance with the
site plan, and all the site improvements shall be
completed by October 1, 1978.
7. This permit is granted for a two year period. Said
permit shall expire on August 7, 1980.
