RESOLUTION NO. 5975
A RESOLUTION ADOPTING SUPPLEMENTAL ASSESSMENT
IMPROVEMENT NO. 74-02S
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park',as
follows:
1. Notice of hearing on this improvement was mailed on March 20, 1978,
and published in the official city newspaper, the St. Louis Park Sun, on
March 17, 1978, as required by Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 429, and asl ordered
by Council Resolution No. 5969. The proposed supplemental assessment has at
all times since the mailing of the notice of public hearing been open for public
inspection.
2. A public hearing having been held on this date and opportunity having
been given at the hearing to all persons to make known their objections to the
proposed supplemental assessment, and the Council being fully advised of the
pertinent facts, (and having amended the proposed assessment as it deems just),
the proposed supplemental assessment (as amended) is adopted and shall constitute
the supplemental special assessment levied against the respective lands therein
described at this time and each tract of land is found to be specifically
benefited by the improvements in not less than the amount of assessment levied
against it.
3. The supplemental assessment shall be payable, unless prepaid, in equal
annual installments extending over the period of years designated in paragraph 4.
The first installments shall be payable concurrently with general taxes levied
in the year 1978, and payable in the year 1979, and shall bear interest at
the rate of seven percent per annum from the date of the adoption of this assess-
ment resolution. To the first installment shall be added interest on the entire
assessment from the date of this assessment until December 31 of the year in
which the first installment becomes due and payable. To subsequent installments
when due shall be added interest for one year on the total of all unpaid installments.
No interest will be charged if the entire supplemental assessment as to any parcel
is paid at the office of the City Treasurer within 30 days from the date of
adoption of the supplemental assessment resolution.
4. The number of years over which installments are to be extended is 20
years.
5. The City Clerk shall transmit a certified copy of this supplemental
assessment to the County Auditor to be extended on the proper tax lists of the
County, and such supplemental assessments shall be collected and paid over in the
same manner as other municipal taxes.
