HomeMy WebLinkAbout5916 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1977/12/12DECEMBER 12, 1977 8g RESOLUTION NO. 5916 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF PROPERTY FOR BUS PLAZA WHEREAS, the City Council of St. Louis Park has authorized and directed the City Manager to negotiate with Donald F. Hagen for the purchase of the fee title to the land hereinafter described for public use; and WHEREAS, Donald F. Hagen, pursuant to such negotiations, has indicated his desire to sell said property to the City by Warranty Deed for the sum of $1,950; therefore BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of St. Louis Park that the City of St. Louis Park purchase from Donald F. Hagen the following described property in Hennepin County, Minnesota, to -wit: The Southeasterly 19 feet of the Northwesterly 36 feet of the Northeasterly 34 feet, measured at right angles to the North- westerly and Northeasterly lines thereof, respectively of the following described property: That part of Lot 1, Block 1, Hanke's Mintkanda Terrace, and of the Northeast 1/4 of the South- east 1/4 of Section 6, Township 28, Range 24, West of the 4th Principle Meridian, described as follows: Beginning at a point on the northwesterly line of said Lot 1 distant 3 feet South- westerly as measured along said Northwesterly line from the Northwest corner thereof; thence Northeasterly along the North- westerly line of said Lot 1, and same extended, a distance of 78.3 feet; thence Southeasterly at right angles a distance of 190.1 feet; thence to the right deflection angle 121 degrees 45 minutes a distance of 92.5 feet, more or less, to a point on a -line drawn parallel with the Northeasterly line of said Lot 1 and distant 3 feet Southwesterly as measured at right angles therefrom, said point being 141.3 feet Southeasterly as measured along said parallel line from the Northwest line of said Lot 1; thence northwesterly parallel with and distant 3 feet Southwesterly as measured at right angles from the Northeasterly line of said Lot 1 a distance of 141.3 feet to the point of beginning, excepting, however, therefrom the Northwesterly 17 feet taken for street opening of Excelsior Boulevard and included in the condemnation proceedings in the District Court of Hennepin County, Minnesota, and recorded in Book 307 of Miscellaneous Records, page 612 , and whereas a division is required by the purchase of this parcel, 1 1 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of St. Louis Park agrees to said division, and the Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized to execute any and all instruments necessary to complete the purchase of said property and the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to accept delivery of the deed and to pay the sum of $1,950 from the Community Development Fund to the said Donald F. Hagen as the purchase price of said property upon the delivery to him of a Warranty Deed to said property accompanied by an Abstract of Title or Owner's Certificate of Title showing good and marketable title of record to said property together with an opinion of the Law Department of the City of St. Louis Park approving the execution of the deed and the seller's abstract or certificate.
