RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FILING OF APPLICATION FOR
GRANT FOR SHADE TREE CONTROL AND REFORESTATION
PROGRAMS UNDER THE PROVISION OF THE MINNESOTA
STATUTES SECTIONS 18.023
WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota provides for the making of grants,
pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Section 18.023, for municipal shade tree
removal and reforestation programs; and
WHEREAS, the City of St. Louis Park meets all eligibility criteria
for such grants as set forth in the Department of Agriculture's Regulation
Agr 107, including the administration of a shade tree disease control
program approved by the Minnesota Commissioner of Agriculture, and a local
subsidy program which is compatible with the administrative requirements of
the State grant program; and
WHEREAS, program costs have been estimated to be $408,750 for
sanitation and $ 75,450 for replanting.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis
1) An application must be made to the Department of Agriculture,
Shade Tree Disease Control Program for a grant-in-aid
pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Section 18.023, as amended
in 1977 for costs presently estimated to be $ 408,750 for
sanitation and $ 75,450 for replanting.
2) The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute
and to file such application with the State of Minnesota, Plant
Industry Division of the Department of Agriculture, and to
provide additional information and to furnish such documents
as may be required by said Agency, to execute such contracts
as are required by said Agency and to act as the authorized
correspondent of the Applicant.
