RESOLUTION NO. 5726
A RESOLUTION GRANTING PERMIT UNDER SECTION 14-171(6,)(z) OF
THE ST. LOUIS PARK ORDINANCE CODE RELATING TO ZONING TO PERMIT
A BUILDING MATERIALS STORAGE YARD FOR PROJECT LOCATED= -IN THE
I-1 INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT AT 6650 OXFORD STREET
BE IT RESOLVED BY the City Council of the,City of St. Louis Park:
Findings
1. Herman Hasselbring (Ace Manufacturing Inc.) has made application to the
City Council for a special permit under Section 14-171(6)(z) of the St. Louis
Park Ordinance Code for the purpose of a building materials storage yard located
at 6650 Oxford Street for the legal description as follows, to -wit:
tot 4, Block' 1, Allen Garrison's Addition, lying westerly of a line
described as beginning at a point on the southeasterly line of said
lot for a distance of 211' northeasterly from the most southerly
corner thereof; thence northerly at right angles from said southerly
line to the northerly line thereof.
2. The City Council has considered the advice and recommendation of the
Planning Commission (Case No. 7 -10 -SP) and the effect of the proposed outdoor
storage yard on the health, safety and welfare of the occupants of the surrounding
lands, existing and anticipated traffic conditions, the effect on values of pro-
perties in the surrounding area and the effect of the use on the Comprehensive
Plan.
3. The Council has determined that the proposed outdoor storage yard will
not be detrimental to the health, safety or general welfare of the community
nor will it cause serious traffic congestion nor hazards, nor will it seriously
depreciate surrounding property values, and the proposed outdoor storage yard
is in harmony with the general purpose and intent of the Zoning Ordinance and
the Comprehensive Plan.
Conclusion
The special permit to permit a storage yard for building materials at the location
described is granted based on the findings set forth above and subject to the
following conditions:
1. The fence shall be chain link, not over 6' in height _and
screened with decorative slats so that it is opaque.

2. The use of the storage yard should be limited to heating,
ventilating, and air conditioning pipe.
3. No material shall be stored within the fenced area above the
height of the fence.
4. A driveway shall be paved between the curb cut in the gate to
the fence and shall not exceed 22' in width.
5. The area between the fence and the curb shall be sodded and four
sugar maple trees, not less than 3" in diameter, 1' above the
ground, and with a ball and burlap root, shall be,plen'ted between
the curb line and the property line.
6.. The site shall be continuously maintained in accordance with the
above conditions.
7. All structures and paving shall be completed by July 1, 1977, and
all landscaping by October 1, 1977.
