RESOLUTION NO.55741
RESOLUTION CALLING SPECIAL PRIMARY ELECTION
SEPTEMBER 14, 1976
WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of St. Louis Park, in Section 4.03
thereof, requires that provision be made for a primary election for whenever
three or more candidates have filed for any City wide office or Councilman
of any ward, or wards, for the offices and the districts represented thereby,
and
WHEREAS, three or more candidates have filed for office in the City of
St. Louis Park as hereinafter mentioned, therefor
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park:
1. That three or more candidates have filed for the office of Mayor
and a Special Primary Election is hereby called to be held on the 14th
day of September, 1976, to be concurrent with the State Primary Election,
and at which Primary Election there shall be submitted to the vote of the
electors at the regular polling places in the City the names of all duly
filed candidates for the office of Mayor.
2. The Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of the time
and place of holding such election, the officers to be elected, and the
location of each polling place by posting a notice thereof at least fifteen
days before the holding thereof in at least one public place in each voting
precinct where the election is held, and by publishing, a notice thereof in
the official newspaper not less that two weeks before the holding thereof.
3. That the City Clerk and all other officers and employees of the
City are hereby authorized and directed to do and perform all necessary
and lawful duties in connection with said primary election in the manner
provided by the Charter and Ordinances of the City of St. Louis Park for
General City Elections, insofar as they may be applicable.
