HomeMy WebLinkAbout5524 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1976/05/17May 17, 1976 RESOLUTION N0. 55 24 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACQUISITION OF EASEMENT FOR PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE WHEREAS, the City Council of St. Louis Park has authorized and directed the City Manager to negotiate with Burlington Northern Railroad, for the purchase of a permanent easement as hereinafter described, for public uses, and WHEREAS, the pursuant to such negotiations, has indicated its willingness to grant said permanent easement to the City for the sum of $300, now, therefore BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of St. Louis Park that the City of St. Louis Park purchase from the Burlington Northern Railroad the following described property in Hennepin County, Minnesota, to -wit: A 20 foot permanent easement for a pedestrian bridge; said easement being 10 feet either side of the following described line; commencing at the northwest corner of Lot 12, Block 2, Highwood Tract; Lake Forest addition, said point being on the southerly property line of the Burlington Northern Railroad a distance of 38 feet to the true point of beginning, thence north 26 0' 15" west, a distance of 305.7 feet to the northerly property line of Burlington Northern Railway, said point being point of ending. A 100 foot temporary easement being 50 feet either side of the above described line. The basis of bearing is the southerly property line of the Burlington Northern Railroad with an assumed bearing of south 74° 11' west. (Easement is located at BNRR station 66 + 72 and milepost 14 + 3171.) and the Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized to execute any and all instruments necessary to complete the purchase of said easement and the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to accept delivery of Resolution No. , May 17, 1976 Page 2 the deed and to pay the sum of $300 from the Revenue Sharing Fund to the Burlington Northern Railroad as the purchase price of said `easement upon the delivery to them of a permanent easement to said lands.
