HomeMy WebLinkAbout4890 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1973/08/20ORIGINAL RESOLUTION NO. AUGUST 20, 1973 4890 8A2 A RESOLUTION ORDERING THE OWNER OF HAZARDOUS BUILDINGS WITHIN THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK TO CORRECT THE HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS WHEREAS, Harry Bergstrom Estate, owner of certain real property located at 3918 West 31st Street, within the City of St. Louis Park legally described as follows: Lot 5, Block 2, Manhattan Park Addition, and WHEREAS, the buildings constructed on said real property have been unoccupied for the past 24 months but have not been removed and there remain buildings and foundations which create hazardous conditions, fire hazards, hazards to public safety and health, and attractive nuisances to children, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 463.16, Administrator of Estate, Bud Lamere, is ordered to correct the conditions above described on the grounds that the conditions are hazardous within the meaning of Minnesota Statutes 463.15 through 463.26. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the said Administrator of Estate, Bud Lamere, is ordered to correct the conditions by razing the buildings and filling in the excavated areas, or in the alternative, checking and rebuilding as necessary the foundations, bearing walls and mn-bearing walls, replacing structural members which are weak, checking and replacing or repairing the entire heating, electrical and plumbing systems as necessary to bring them within the specifications of the Municipal Code of St. Louis Park, and all window seals and doors should be repaired as necessary, and the buildings should then be closed and secured or occupied, within thirty (30) days from the date this order is duly served upon him; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that an order for summary enforcement of the order be made to the District Court of Hennepin County, State of Minnesota, unless corrective action is taken by the said Administrator of Estate, Bud Lamere or unless his answer is filed within the time specified in Minnesota Statutes 463.18, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager and City Attorney be, and hereby are, directed to prepare and serve the order and take all other necessary action in accordance with this resolution and in accordance with Minnesota Statutes 463.15 through 463.26.
