HomeMy WebLinkAbout4807 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1973/04/30i' ORIGINAL RESOLUTION NO. 4 8 11 AUTHORIZING TAKING OF LAND BY EMINENT_ DOMAIN FOR PARK PURPOSES ADDITION TO WESTWOOD NATURE CENTER APRIL 30, 1973 7D WHEREAS, the City Council has ordered preparation of a resolution authorizing taking of land by eminent domain and the City Park Planners have recommended the acquisition of land for park purposes at the locations hereinafter specified, and it appears to the Council that it is necessary that the City acquire such lands, therefore BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of St. Louis Par;:: 1. That it is hereby determined that the taking of each of the tracts and parcels of land set forth in paragraph 3 hereof is necessary for the public good in order that said tracts and parcels shall be devoted to pari: purposes. 2. That the City shall take by right of eminent domain for park purposes the lands described in paragraph 3 hereof, and the City Attorney be hereby authorized and directed to commence proceedings in the District Court of Hennepin County for appointment of Commissioners to determine the damages, if any, sustained by the respective owners of the parcels affected by such taking, as authorized by lair, and 3. That the lands above referred to are more particularly described as follows: That part of LOT 2, BLOCK 2, MUIUP -I1AC INDUSTRIAL PARK ADDITION - REPLAT, according to the plat thereof on file and of record in the office of the Register of Deeds, Hennepin County, Minnesota, lying Southerly of a line parallel with and distant 360 feet Northerly of the most Southerly line of said Lot 2 as measured at right angles thereto. Together with: The Southerly 360 feet of that part of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 6, Township 117, Range 21, Hennepin County, Minnesota, described as follows: Beginning at the Southwest corner of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of said Section 6; thence Easterly along the South line of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of said Section 6, a distance of 395.5 feet to a point distant 790 feet West of the Southeast corner of the Northeast Quarter of said Section 6; thence Northwesterly at an angle to the left of 116 degrees 2 minutes to the West line of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 6; thence Southerly to the point of beginning.
