RESOLUTION NO. 4406
RESOLUTION URGING THE MINNEAPOLIS
PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD TO PRESERVE
OPEN SPACE LAND AT CEDAR LAKE AVENUE
AND FRANCE AVENUE
WHEREAS, the Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board owns a tract
of open space land at the northwest corner of the intersection of
Cedar Lake Avenue and France Avenue in St. Louis Park, and
WHEREAS, the Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board is apparently
considering the sale of this tract of land, and
WHEREAS, there is no other open space land as easily accessible
for residents of this area to use and enjoy, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park
that the Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board is hereby urged to
retain and preserve this tract of open space land, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Minneapolis Parks and Recreation
Board is hereby urged to take no action toward disposal of this
property until such time as the City of St. Louis Park is afforded
an opportunity to negotiate for acquisition or retention of this
property for open space usage.
