HomeMy WebLinkAbout4380 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1971/10/18• Original OCTOBER 18, 1971 7F RESOLUTION NO. 4380 RESOLUTION OF SYMPATHY AND CONDOLENCE WHEREAS, Volunteer Fireman Robert LicElmurry on October 8, 1971, gave his life in devotion to his duty, and WHEREAS, through his distinguished courage and loyalty, Robert McElmurry brought honor to the service and the uniform he loved, exemplifying the highest qualities of a member of the St. Louis Park Volunteer Fire Department, and WHEREAS, Robert McElmurry died in the defense of the lives and property of the people of St. Louis Park, and WHEREAS, we admired him for his sound judgment, loved him for his fairness and generosity, and esteemed him for his great courage, his high sense of honor and his constant devotion to the interests of the City of St. Louis Park, therefore BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park, Minnesota: 1. That the people of St. Louis Park do hereby pay humble tribute to the courage and devotion of Volunteer Fireman Robert McElmurry and share with his family and friends their sorrow and their loss which is a loss to all of us. 2. That in evidence of the respect and sympathy of the City Council, representing the people of St. Louis Park, the City Clerk is hereby instructed to enter this resolution into the official resolution book of the City of St. Louis Park and to deliver a certified copy thereof to Mrs. Robert McElmurry, the devoted wife of our former comrade.
