HomeMy WebLinkAbout433 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1957/08/12271 Resolution No. 432 - continued WHEREAS, an assessment was thereby levied on the basis.of 140 feet at $5.00 per front foot or $700.00 for said water main, and WHEREAS, said assessment should have been on the basis of 130 feet at $5.00 per front foot or $650.00, and WHEREAS, the City Attorney has advised the Council that said assessment, to the extent based upon erroneous computation of footage, was invalid, and the Council desires to correct said error, therefore BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park that the assessment resolution heretofore adopted, levying the assessments above referred to, be hereby amended to provide for assessment against the tract here- inafter described for sanitary sewer Improvement No. 52-308 at $1,235.50 with 5% interest, adjustment to be made in unpaid installments of said assessment as follows: Sanitary Sewer 52-308 - Sec. 18 T 117 R 21, that part of W 1/2 of NW 1/4 of NW 1/4 of SE 1/4 lying south of N 180 feet thereof, and N of S 10 feet thereof. Year 1958 1959 1960 1961 1962 1963 Amount 151.56 145.45 139.27 133.09 126.91 120.73 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park that the assessment resolution heretofore adopted, levying the assessments above referred to, be hereby amended to provide for assessment against the tract hereinafter described for water main Improvement No. 51-18 at $650.00 with 4% interest, adjustment to be made in unpaid installments of said assessment as follows: Water Main 51-18 - Sec. 18 T 117 R 21, that part of W 1/2 of NW 1/4 of NW 1/4 of SE 1/4 lying south of N 180 feet thereof, and N of S 10 feet thereof._ Year 1958 1959 1960 1961 1962 Amount 71.21 68.65 66.05 63.45 60.85 Resolution No. 433 Adopted August 12, 1957 REQUESTING THE COUNTY BOARD OF HENNEPIN COUNTY TO PROCEED WITH IMPROVEMENT OF STATE AID ROAD NO. 16 WHEREAS, Cedar Lake Road, as the same extends within the corporate limits of the City of St. Louis Park from Edgewood Avenue east to the east boundary of St. Louis Park - Minneapolis, which is also known as State Aid Road No. 16, has been during recent years servicing a substantially increased volume of traffic due principally to (a) increased population in the adjacent area of'St. Louis Park and west of St. Louis Park in Minnetonka Township and Hopkins; (b) industrial development in the area west of State Highway No. 100; (c) construction of underpass at the intersection of Cedar Lake Road and Highway No. 100, and (d) congestion of traffic on State Highway No. 12, and WHEREAS, said Cedar Lake Road was not originally designed to serve this 272 Resolution No. 433 - continued volume of traffic, with the result that the street is hazardous particularly at the intersection of the Minneapolis, Northfield &.Southern Railway right-of- way and at the old bridge overpassing the Great Northern Railway right-of-way, and WHEREAS, the City of St. Louis Park has been previously informed by the County of Hennepin that plans have been prepared for permanent improvement of said State Aid Road No. 16, and the City did in 1955 acquire, at substantial expense to the City, additional right-of-way in response to request from the County, and WHEREAS, prospective development of residential and industrial pro- perty adjacent to said road in St. Louis Park in the near future requires that there be a permanent grade and location of this road in order to avoid sub- stantial damage to improved property if the road is later graded and relocated, and prospects for increase in population of the area lying west of St. Louis, Park which will be served by this road indicate an increased traffic load, and proposed limitation of access to State Highway No. 12 by the State Highway Department in the near future also indicates increased traffic on State Aid Road No. 16, therefore BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park that the County Board of Hennepin.County be urged to proceed not later than during the year 1958 to complete relocation and permanent improvement of said State Aid Road No. -16 in the City of St. Louis Park, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be directed to transmit a certified copy of this resolution to the County Auditor of Hennepin County with the request that it be presented to the County Board at its next succeed- ing meeting, and that the City Clerk be notified of the date when said resol- ution will be presented to the County Board. Resolution No. 434 Adopted August 12, 1957 RESOLUTION SETTING HEARING ON CURB & GUTTER IMPROVEMENTS WHEREAS, the City Engineer has filed his preliminary report with the Council dated August 8, 1957, together with estimated cost for the following Curb & Gutter Improvements therefore BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council, that the Clerk be directed to publish notice of hearing to be held at the Council Meeting September 9, 1957 on the following proposed Curb & Gutter Improvements: Impr. No. Location Estimated Cost 57-54 North Side of W. 40th Lane from Quentin Ave. to Natchez Ave. $2,528.24 57-55 South Side of W. 40th Lane from Quentin Ave. to Natchez Ave. $2,900.04 The area proposed to be assessed to be the adjacent lots and tracts of land.
