No. Location 57-29 Extension of West 26th Street from Natchez Ave. to Quentin Ave. extended North to Quentin Ave. extended North and extension of the West i of Natchez Ave. from West 27th St. to West 26th St. (30 feet in width) The City Attorney is authorized to commence proceedings in District Court of .Hennepin County for condemnation of rights of way for each of said Street extensions. Resolution No. 402 Adopted June 10, 1957 REJECTING BIDS FOR SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT NO. 56-52 SECTIONS B AND C WHEREAS, pursuant to advertisement for bids duly published, the City Council received and opened bids May 13, 1957, for construction of Sanitary Trunk Sewer No. 3, Sewer Improvement No. 56-52, Sections A, B and C, and WHEREAS, on May 20, 1957, the City Council by resolution determined that the bid so received from Nodland-Barbarossa, a joint venture, for Section A, in the sum of $986,059.00, was the lowest bid of a responsible bidder for said Section A, and that the bid of L & L, a joint venture consisting of Lametti & Sons, Inc. and Peter Lametti Construction Co., was the lowest bid of a responsible bidder for Sections B and C, and the City Council did at said time reject the bid of a joint venture consisting of Rue Contracting Company, a partnership, and Sornsin Construction Co. Inc., a corporation, as not being the lowest bid of a responsible bidder, and WHEREAS, legal action has been commenced questioning the validity of the contract to be entered into with said L & L, joint venture and Nodland- Barbarossa, joint venture and WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council that due to municipal bond market conditions it would be unwise to attempt to issue bonds to finance construction of said Sections A, B and C at this time, and that delay in con- struction of Sections B and C and the necessary financing of the same would be desirable in order to obtain a favorable interest rate, and WHEREAS, the Council has been advised by its Engineer that substantial saving in construction and supervision cost may be anticipated by re-adver- tising for said Sections B and C upon the basis of completion by May 1, 1958, in lieu of October 1, 1958, as provided for in the original contract conditions, therefore BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park that the said bids received May 13, 1957, for Sections A, B and C, Sewer Improvement 56-52, by L & L, joint venture, and said Sornsin & Rue, joint venture, the same being submitted as "tied" bids, be hereby rejected together with bid of Nodland- Barbarossa for Sections B and C, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that action of the City Council May 20, 1957, determining the said bid of Nodland-Barbarossa, joint venture, to be the lowest bid of a responsible bidder received for said Section A, and authorizing ex- ecution of Contract by the Mayor and City Manager for said Section A is hereby ratified and confirmed, and 232 Resolution No. 402 - continued BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that G. M. Orr Engineering Company be hereby directed to prepare, with the approval of the City Attorney, advertisement for bids and proposal forms providing for advertisement for bids for Sections B and C of said sewer project, the same to be in identical form with advertisement, proposal forms, and based upon general contract conditions, specifications and drawings for said sewer project heretofore approved by said City Council, with the exception that the completion date will be specified to be May 1, 1958, bids are to be opened by the City Council at its meeting July 15, 1957, and the City shall have the option in any event to accept bids received for Section B or Section C, or for Section B and C, as the Council shall determine. Resolution No. )03 Adopted June 10, 1957 SETTING HEARING ON PROPOSED STORM DRAIN IMPROVEMENT WHEREAS, the City Engineer under date of May 29, 1957, has reported to the Council that proposed relief ditch to serve as outlet for Storm Sewer District No. 25 is feasible and should be made as proposed and not in connect- ion with any other improvement and that the estimated cost of said relief ditch would be $3,600.00 and WHEREAS, the City Assessor has recommended that the area to be assessed for said improvement be Storm Sewer District No. 25,, therefore BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council that the City Clerk be direcj;ed to publish notice of_hearing at the Council meeting June 24, 1957, on Improve- ment No. 57-41, being construction of a relief ditch as outlet for Storm Sewer No. 25 to be constructed along easement to be obtained over the rear 20 feet of Lots D and E, Registered Land Survey -No. 69, and extended easterly parallel to the Great Northern Railway right-of-way to ponding area. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the area proposed to be assessed for said improvement shall be Storm Sewer District No. 25, the boundaries of which are as follows: Commencing at the northwest corner of Lot 1, Block 3, Earlsfort Terrace; thence south along the west line of Lots 1 thru 13 inclusive, said Block 3, and continuing south along the west lines of Lots 1 thru 1.4, Block 6, The Bronx, to the southwest corner of said Block 4; thence east along the south line of said Block 4 and continuing along the south line of Lot 27, Block 7, The Bronx, to the southeast corner thereof; thence south to the southwest corner of Lot 5, said Block 7; thence east along the south line of said Lot 5 and continuing east along the south line of Lot 26, Block 8, The Bronx, to the southeast corner thereof; thence south along the east lines of Lots 25 thru 19 inclusive to the southeast corner of said Lot 19; thence east along the south line of Lot 12, said Block 8, and continuing east along the south line of Lot 19, Block 9, The Bronx, to the southeast corner thereof; thence north along the east lines of Lots 19 to 30, said Block 9, and 16 to 30, Block 2, The Bronx, and continuing north to the south right-of-way line of the Great Northern Railway; thence southwesterly along said right-of-way line to point of beginning.
