HomeMy WebLinkAbout366 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1957/02/11207 Resolution No. 36I - continued for non-payment of taxes, which said list has been designated as Classification List "427", January 22, 1957; and WHEREAS, Each parcel of land described in said list has heretofore been classified by the Board of County Commissioners of Hennepin County, Minnesota as non -conservation land and the sale thereof has heretofore been authorized by said Board of County Commissioners: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, By said City -Council, acting pursuant to Minnesota Statutes for 1949, Section 282.01, Subd. 1, that the said classifica- tion by said Board of County Commissioners of each parcel of land described in said list as non -conservation land be and the same is hereby approved and that the sale of each such parcel of land be and the same is hereby approved. Resolution No. 365 Adopted February 4, 1957 AUTHORIZING AGREEMENT FOR RECONSTRUCTION OF RAILROAD BRIDGE WHEREAS, the City -Council by its Resolution No. 336 adopted November 12, 1956, ordered reconstruction of the overpass bridge at the intersection of Cam- bridge Street and the Minneapolis, Northfield & Southern Railway, as Improvement No. 56-98, and the Railroad and Warehouse Commission of the State of Minnesota by its order dated January 21, 1957, has ordered that said bridge be reconstruct- ed by the Minneapolis, Northfield & Southern Railway and the City of St. Louis Park in accordance with plans filed with the Commission and approved by it, and has further ordered that the costs of the reconstruction of said bridge shall be borne one-third thereof but not exceeding $11,000 by the City of St. Louis Park and the remainder of the cost of such reconstruction shall be borne by the rail- way company, and WHEREAS, as agreement has been submitted by said railway company which has been approved by the City Attorney, providing for reconstruction of said bridge in accordance with said Order, therefore BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council that the City Manager and Mayor be hereby authorized to execute said agreement in behalf of the City. Resolution No. 366 Adopted February 11, 1957 MODIFYING RESOLUTION NO. 106, RELATING TO AT,T.F,Y IN. BLOCK 3, PARK MANOR WHEREAS, the City Council on July 11, 1955, adopted a resolution pro- viding for the taking of the East 12 feet of Lots 16 to 30 inclusive, Block 3, Park Manor, for alley purposes, and WHEREAS, it appears that Lots 29 and 30 of said Block are owned by the 208 Resolution No. 366 - continued Minneapolis, Northfield & Southern Railway and are used for railroad right-of- way purposes, and it appears to be to the advantage of the railway and the -City that the right-of-way of said alley -be modified as the same extends over said lots in order to avoid crossing the tracks of said railway. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council that the City Attorney be authorized to enter into a stipulation with the Minneapolis, Northfield & Southern Rail- way providing that in lieu of taking the East 12 feet of Lots 29 and 30, Block 3, Park Manor, for said alley purposes, the City shall take and the railway shall dedicate for said alley over said lots the right-of-way described as follows: Six feet on either side of a center line described as follows: Commenc- ing at the southeast corner of said Lot 29, thence extending to a point on the north line of said Lot 29 which point is 9 feet west of the northeast corner of said Lot 29; thence extending to a point on the north line of said Lot 30 which point is 26 feet west of the northeast corner of said Lot 30; also, providing for the grant of an easement to the City to construct slopes in connection with the grading of said alley adjacent to the westerly line of'said alley over said Lots 29 and 30, the westerly limit of said slope easement being described as follows: Commencing at a point in the south line of Lot 29, which point is 12 feet west of the southeast corner of said Lot; thence extending to a point on the north line of said Lot 29, which point_is 26 feet west of the northeast corner of said Lot 29; thence to a point on the north line of said Lot 30, which point is 42 feet west of the Northeast corner of said Lot 30.. Resolution No. 367 Adopted February 11, 1957 RESOLUTION OPPOSING THE ADOPTION OF COUNTY _RELIEF BILL, H.F. 72 AND S.F. 60 WHEREAS, placing Rural Hennepin County on a County system of direct relief, to be administered under the County Welfare Board, would not be in the best interest of the City of St. Louis Park, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council go on record as opposed to the adoption of County Relief Bill, H.F. 72 and S.F. 60 introduced in the 1957 session of the Minnesota Legislature. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be sent to Senator Archie Miller and Representative Alf Bergerud and to the Public Welfare Committee of the House and Senate. 1 1
