HomeMy WebLinkAbout324 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1956/10/2218'7 Resolution No. 324 Adopted October 22, 1956 SETTING HEARING ON PROPOSED BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION WHEREAS, it appears to the Council that the intersection of Cambridge Avenue with the overpass bridge of the Minneapolis, Northfield & Southern Railroad has become hazardous due to increased traffic resulting from develop- ment of the area lying to the west of this intersection and that replacement of the bridge is essential to the safe and proper use of Cambridge Avenue at this point, and WHEREAS, the said railroad has advised the City that it is willing to co-operate in reconstruction of said bridge, and WHEREAS, the City Engineer has submitted his report that he considers the proposed construction to be feasible and should be constructed as proposed and not in connection with any other improvement; that the estimated cost of the entire project will be $33,000, and the City Assessor has recommended the proposed assessment area as hereinafter set forth, therefore BE IT RESOLv1ll by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park that the Clerk be directed to publish notice of hearing at the Council meeting November 12, 1956, on proposed Impr. No. 56-98 reconstruction of Minneapolis, Northfield & Southern Railroad overpass bridge at the intersection of Cambridge Avenue and the Minneapolis, Northfield & Southern Railroad right-of-way, at an estimated cost of $33,000, of which it is proposed that the City contribute one-third and the railroad two-thirds, the area to be assessed to be as follows: Beginning at the Easterly right-of-way line of the Minneapolis, Northfield and Southern Railroad and the South right-of-way line of the main line of the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railroad; thence Southwesterly along the South right-of-way line of the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railroad to the North South center line of Section 20, Township 117, Range 21; thence South along the North-South center line of said Section 20 to the Northwest corner of the Southwest 1/4 of the E 1/2 of the North 1/2 of said Section 20; thence East to its point of intersection with the West line of Brook - lawns; thence North 220 feet; thence East to its point with the Easterly - right-of-way line of the Minneapolis, Northfield and Southern Railroad; thence Northwesterly along the Easterly right-of-way line of the Minneapolis and Southern Railroad to the point of beginning. Resolution No. 325 Adopted October 22, 1956 RESOLUTION ORDERING WATER MAIN WHEREAS, the City Council has met at the time and place specified in the notice published in the St. Louis Park Dispatch October 4 and 11, 1956, re- lating to the public improvements hereinafter described and has heard all inter- ested persons appearing at said meeting and has secured from the City Engineer a report advising it in a preliminary way as to whether each proposed improvement is feasible and as to whether it should best be made as proposed or in connection with some other improvements, and the estimated cost of the improvements; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park that the following public improvements be hereby ordered in accordance with plans and specifications which have been prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk.
