HomeMy WebLinkAbout308 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1956/10/08177 Resolution No. 307 Adopted October 8, 1956 RESOLUTION GRANTING PERMIT UNDER SECTION 10.3 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK WHEREAS, application has been made to the City Council by Le Roy Signs Incorporated for permit under Section 10.3 of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of St. Louis Park for therfollowing purpose: To erect a sign adver- tising Park Terrace which exceeds 48 Sq. Feet at 4700 Excelsior Blvd. and WHEREAS, the Council has considered the effect of the proposed use on the health, safety and welfare of the occupants of the surrounding lands, existing traffic conditions, including parking facilities on adjacent streets, and the effect on values and properties in the surrounding area, therefore BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park that it is hereby determined that the said proposed use will not_be detri- mental to the health, safety or public welfare of the occupants of surround- ing lands, nor will it cause serious traffic congestion, nor hazards, nor will it seriously depreciate surrounding property values, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that permit be hereby granted to the appli- cant for the purpose above set forth, upon further action (after report of the Planning Commission) relating to set back less than 20 feet. Resolution No. 308 Adopted October 8, 1956 RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 133 "ADOPTING RULES GOVERNING CONDUCT OF MEMBERS OF THE ST. LOUIS PARK FIRE DEPARTMENT AND THE VOLUNTEER DIVISION THEREOF" WHEREAS, on August 29, 1955 the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park adopted Resolution No. 133 "Adopting Rules Governing Conduct of Members of the St. Louis Park Fire Department and the Volunteer Division Thereof" and WHEREAS, it now appears in the best interests of the City that such rules be amended as follows, therefore BE IT RESOLVED, that on Page #15 "General Rules --- Volunteer Div- ision", the paragraph reading, "Membership in the Volunteers must terminate with the 60th birthday of the member" be amended by adding the following: "This rule shall not apply to any member of the Volunteer Fire Department who was a member of said Department prior to the adoption of the Home Rule Charter and who will not have served 20 years in the St. Louis Park Volunteer Fire Department prior to his 60th birthday, provided, however, that the membership of such a member will be terminated immediately upon the completion of 20 years service in the Volunteer Fire Department", and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Page #14 "General Rules" be amended by adding the following: "I Vacations: (a) Regular firemen working twenty-four hours on duty and twenty-fourours off duty, having less than ten years con- secutive full-time service shall earn vacation leave at the rate of .7 of one .;working day for each calendar month of full-time service, or major portion thereof, for the first ten months of each twelve month period. Each fireman Resolution No. 308 - Continued Adopted October 8, 1956 with more than ten but less than twenty,. consecutive years of full-time service shall earn vacation leave at the rate of 1.05 working days for each calendar month of full-time service, or major portion thereof, for the first ten months of each twelve month period. Each fireman with more than twenty consecutive years of full-time service shall earn vacation leave at the rate of 1.4 working days for each Calendar month of full-time service, or major portion thereof, for the first ten months of each twelve month period. "(b) All members of the Fire Department working a five day week, 40 hours per week, shall earn vacation leave in the manner prescribed by Section 1:316, City of St. Louis Park Ordinance Code." "(c) All members of the Fire Department may accrue vacation time to a maximum of 12 times the amount earned in any one year, provided how- ever, no employee may take vacation leave in excess of three calendar weeks during any one six month period unless authorized by the City Manager." II Sick Leave: Sick leave with pay shall be granted to members of the Fire Department for the same reasons and under the same conditions as is provided in Section 1:317, City of St. Louis Park Ordinance Code, ex- cept as provided below. ' Regular firemen working 24 hours on duty and 24 hours off duty, shall earn sick leave at the rate of .75 of a working day for each calendar month of full-time service or major portion thereof. Sick leave may be accumulated to a total of not more than 90 working days. Officers working 2I hours on duty and 48 hours off duty shall earn sick leave at the rate of .5 of a working day for each calendar month of full-time service or major portion thereof. Sick leave may be accumulated to a total of not more than 60 working days." Resolution No. 309 Adopted October 8, 1956 RESOLUTION SETTING HEARING ON PROPOSED SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS RESOLVED by the City Council that the Clerk be directed to publish notice of hearing, to be held at the Council meeting October 22, 1956, on the following proposed improvements: SIDEWALK Impr. No. 56-92 West side Texas Ave. from W. 33rd St. to W. 34th St., Estimated cost $2,1314.00 3448 Texas Avenue, estimated cost $566.50 56-93 56-94 West side Texas Ave. from W. Estimated cost $2,136.75 The area proposed to be assessed is the lots to said portion of said streets as described adjacent 35th St. to W . 36th st., and tracts of land above.
