AUTHORIZING RELEASE OF UTILITY EASEMENT
WHEREAS application has been made
Minneapolis, Inc. for vacation of five
of Lots 14 through 19 inclusive, Block
dedicated in plat of said subdivision,
to the City Council by Presbytery of
foot utility easement along rear lines
1, Westwood Hills, First Addition, as
and
WHEREAS it appears that the said' easement has been released by the
owner of the said subdivision and by each utility company affected and that
the City will have no need of such an easement, and the release is required in
order that the applicant may construct a church on the premises therefore
BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Manager be hereby authorized to
execute a quit claim deed in behalf of the City releasing and conveying the
said easement to Presbytry of Minneapolis, Inc.

SETTING HEARING ON PROPOSED STORM SEWER
IMPROVEMENT NO. 56 - 59
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has filed his report with the City Council
dated August 24, 1956, recommending construction of storm sewer to be desig-
nated as Improvement No. 56 - 59, to be constructed at the following locations
within the City:
Commencing at West 36th Street and Lake Calhoun in Minneapolis; thence
Westerly along West 36th Street and through Minikanda Golf Course to France
Avenue; thence across Excelsior Boulevard and through Bass Lake to the exist-
ing storm sewer on the East side of State Highway No. 100 and the South
right-of-way line of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad;
thence West on St. Louis Avenue and on the South service road of State High-
way No. 7 to Lake Street; thence West on Lake Street and North through the
Republic Creosote property to West 32nd Street and Oregon Avenue; thence West
to West 31st Street and Utah Avenue; On Quebec Avenue from West 32nd Street
to Minnetonka Boulevard; On Rhode Island Avenue from West 32nd Street to West
34th Street; On Yosemite Avenue from St. Louis Avenue to Oxford Street and

on Oxford Street from Wooddale Avenue to Alabama Avenue; and on Dakota
Avenue from the South service road of State Highway No. 7 to West 33rd Street.
and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has estimated the cost of said storm sewer
construction to be $1,493,415.00, and
WHEREAS, the City Assessor and Engineer have recommended an area pro-
posed to be assessed for said storm sewer construction which is hereinafter
set forth, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council that the Clerk be directed to publish
notice of hearing to be held at the Council meeting October 8, 1956, on
construction of proposed storm sewer Improvement No. 56 - 59 at the locations
above described.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Engineer's estimated cost as above set
forth be approved, together with the Assessor's recommended proposed assess-
ment area, which area shall be designated as Storm Sewer District No. 21, the
boundaries of which shall be as follows:
DRAINAGE AREA OF SOUTH SIDE STORM SEWER
Beginning at the East City limit line of the City of St. Louis Park and
the South right-of-way line of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific
Railway; thence South along said East City limit line to West 38th Street;
thence West on West 38th Street to its point of intersection with the West
line of Lot 68, Auditor's Subdivision No. 301 extended North; thence South
along the East line of Lots 59 thru 68, Auditor's Subdivision No. 301 to
West 39th Street; thence West on West 39th Street to Natchez Avenue; thence
South on Natchez Avenue to West 40th Street; thence West on 40th Street to
Quentin Avenue; thence South on Quentin Avenue to its point of intersection
with the South line of Block 2, Brookview Addition; thence West along the
South line of said Block 2 to Wooddale Avenue; thence North on Wooddale
Avenue to its point of intersection with the East right-of-way line of State
Highway No. 100; thence North on the East right-of-way line of State Highway
No. 100 to its point of intersection with the East West alley of Block 74,
Rearrangement of St. Louis Park extended East; thence West along the East-
West alley in said Block 74 and the East-West alley in Block 73, St. Louis
Park Addition to Yosemite Avenue; thence North on Yosemite Avenue to Goodrich
Avenue; thence West on Goodrich Avenue to Brunswick Avenue; thence North on
Brunswick Avenue to the North right-of-way line of the Minneapolis and St.
Louis Railway; thence West along the North right-of-way line of the Minnea-
polis and St. Louis Railway to Pennsylvania Avenue; thence North on Penn-
sylvania Avenue 'to State Highway No. 7; thence West on State Highway No. 7
to its point of intersection with the North-South alley in Block 314, Re-
arrangement of St. Louis Park; thence North along the North-South alley in
said Block 314 to Walker Street; thence West on Walker Street to its point
of intersection with the North-South alley in Block 311, Rearrangement of
St. Louis Park; thence North along the North-South alleys in Blocks 292,301,
302 and 303, Rearrangement of St. Louis Park to West 32 z Street; thence
continuing North along the East line of Lots 10 thru 15, Lee Valley to the
Northeast corner of said Lot 10; thence West along the North line of said
Lot 10 to Texas Avenue; thence West along the North line of Lot 7, Block

Resolution No. 288 Adopted Sept. 10, 1956
RESOLUTION LEVYING ASSESSMENT FOR COLLECTION
AND DISPOSAL OF GARBAGE AND REFUSE
WHEREAS, the City -Council has heretofore determined by Ordinance No. 460
that the owners of all property in the City served by the garbage and refuse
collection service of the City shall be obligated to pay the sum of $16.90 per
dwelling to the City Treasurer on or before September 1; 1956, for the cost of
such service for the 12 -month period ending September 1, 1956, and
WHEREAS, the City -Clerk has prepared as assessment roll setting forth an
assessment in the sum of $16.90 against each'dwelling served by the garbage and
refuse collection service of the City during said 12 -month period prior to
September 1, 1956, and at a proportionate sum per dwelling served only during
a portion of said 12 -month period, ,therefore
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park that said
assessment roll is hereby adopted and approved, and there is hereby levied and
assessed against each and every tract of land described therein an assessment
in the amounts respectively therein set forth, which assessments are hereby
determined to represent the cost of collection of garbage and refuse from said
respective premises during the 12 -month period ending September' 1, 1956.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be hereby authorized to deliver
said assessment roll to the Auditor of Hennepin County for collection of the
assessments therein set forth in like manner as state, county and other taxes
are collected and payment thereof enforced.

TERMINATING RESTRICTIONS ON USE OF WATER
RESOLVED by the City Council that restrictions on use of water from the
City water supply system, imposed by Resolution No. 246, be hereby terminated.
