Resolution 256 Adopted July 2, 1956
RESOLUTION APPROVING STREET LIGHTING PROGRAM
WHEREAS, as Overhead Street Lighting Proposal, dated June 15, 1956, pre-
pared by Northern States Power Company, has been filed with the Clerk and pre-
sented to the Council, in which it is proposed that the Northern States Power
Company modify installations of Street lights over a period of five years, in
accordance with schedules and maps incorporated into said report, and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it for the best interests of the City and
public safety that said Proposal be carried out, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council that the City Manager be hereby direct-
ed to proceed to order installation of street lamps in accordance with the re-
commendations set forth in said Proposal, the Council, however, reserving the
right to modify the installations as recommended in said Proposal during any
furture year.

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CONVEYANCE OF LAND
WHEREAS', under date of July 2, 1954, Edina Homes, Inc. conveyed to -the
Village of St. Louis Park, without consideration, the following premises:
All that art .of the East 160 feet of the WI of the EE of the NE4
of the NE4, Section 18, Township 117, Range 21, lying North of the
South 880 Feet thereof and South of the North 200 feet thereof,
and
WHEREAS, it now appears that it was the intention of the grantor and the
Village at said time not to convey the North 33 feet of said tract and that the
same was conveyed thru mutual mistake in the description contained in the deed,
therefore
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park that
the Mayor and City Manager be authorized to execute and deliver a quit claim
deed in behalf of the City reconveying the North 33 feet of said tract to Edina
Homes, Inc. on condition, however, that said Edina Homes, Inc. shall at its
expense extend the Cityfs storm sewer which now empties on said North 33 feet,
so as to drain on the City property, prior to delivery of the deed to the sat-
isfaction of the City Engineer.

RESOLUTION GRANTING PERMIT
UNDER SECTION 10.3 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE
OF THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK
WHEREAS, application has been made to the City Council by Hamann Sign
Co. for permit under Section 10. 3 of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of St. Louis
Park for the following purpose: To locate a 41 x 16' (64 Sq. ft.) sign at 3305
Republic Avenue and
WHEREAS, the Council has considered the effect of the proposed use on the
health, safety and welfare of the occupants of the surrounding lands, existing

traffic conditions, including parking facilities on adjacent streets, and the effect
of values and properties in the surrounding area, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park that it
is hereby determined`that the said proposed use will not be detrimental to the
health, safety or public welfare of the occupants of surrounding lands, nor will
it cause serious traffic congestion, nor hazzards, nor will it seriously depreciate
surrounding property values, and
BEiIT:'FURTHER RESOLVED that permit be hereby granted to the applicant
for the purpose above set forth.

RESOLUTION GRANTING PERMIT

WHEREAS, application has been made to the City, Council by Hamann Sign
Co. for permit under Section 10. 3 and 10.5 of the Zoning Ordinance of the City
of St. Louis Park for the following purpose: To locate a 2' x 34' (68 Square Ft.)
sign at 3305 Republic Avenue, and
WHEREAS, the Council has considered the effect of the proposed use on
the health, safety and welfare of the occupants of the surrounding lands, existing
traffic conditions, including parking facilities on adjacent streets, and the effect
on values and properties in the surrounding area, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED by the City, Council of the City of St. Louis Park that it
is hereby determined that the said proposed use will not be detrimental to the
health, safety or public welfare of the occupants of surrounding lands, nor will
it cause serious `traffic congestion, nor hazzards, nor will it seriously depreciate
surrounding property values, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that permit be hereby granted to the applicant
for the purpose above set forth.
Resolution No 260. Adopted July 9, 1956
RESOLUTION SETTING HEARING ON RE -ASSESSMENT
WHEREAS, the City Assessor has reported to the Council that an error was
made in the computation of assessment for tar mat Improvement No. 53-71 on Texas
Avenue from Cedar Lake Road to Wayzata Boulevard, adopted by resolution of the
Village Council August 16, 1954, said error resulting from inaccuracy in the plat
used by the Assessor in computing the assessment, and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney has advised the City Council that said error
raises doubt as to the validity of the assessment and it appears proper to the Council
that there be a rehearing on the proposed reassessment prepared by the City Assessor
which is on file in his office,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council that the City Clerk be
authorized to publish notice of hearing of such reassessment at the City,Council
meeting August 6, 1956.
