BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Auditor's office be hereby authorized
to replace on his rolls the above assessments against Parcel 6630, spreading the
amounts which should have been paid in 1954 and 1955 over the remaining years in
accordance with the assessment sheets on file in the Assessor's office.

APPROVING THE HIRING OF CARL GARDNER AND
ASSOCIATES TO PREPARE COMPREHENSIVE CITY PLAN
WHEREAS, the Council has given consideration to the recommendations of the
Planning Commission that St. Louis Park engage the services of Carl Gardner and
Associates as a consultant to prepare a comprehensive plan for the future develop-
ment of the City, has reviewed the proposal dated February 17, 1956, as amended by
letter and has heard the report of the Mayor and City Manager relative to certain
other amendments resulting from their conference with Gardner on April 23rd, and
WHEREAS the Council has received a resolution which embodies and endorse-
ment by the School Board of Independent District #205 of a planning program of
the scope outlined in the above proposal and a pledge of cooperation by the
Board in this project, and
Whereas the Council has received an indication of public attitude toward
a planning program in general, ,through a review of the results of the vote on
the subject taken by the Local Study Committee of the League of Woken Voters of
the League membership which overwhelmingly approved such a program, and
Whereas the Council, on the basis of the above and other material available
to its members, believes that the recommendations of the Planning Commission are in
the best interests of St. Louis Park,
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Council hereby adopt the recommendations
of the Planning Commission and direct the hiring of Carl Gardner and Associates as
consultants to the City to prepare a comprehensive city plan in accordance with its
proposal of Bebruary 17, as amended, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager request that the Gardner firm
submit a contract embodying the amended proposal to the City at its earliest oppor-
tunity.
