HomeMy WebLinkAbout208 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1956/01/30116 Resolution No. 207 Adopted .January 23, 1956 On motion of Councilman Davis, seconded by Councilman Jorvig, the following resolution 'having been read, was adopted by uhanimous vote of all Members of the Council present. RESOLUTION WHEREAS, plans for Concrete Pavement Project No. 5226 and 5513 showing proposed alignment, profiles, grades, and cross-sections, together with specifications and special provisions for the improvement, of State Aid Road 5 within the limits of the City as a County Aid Project have been prepared and presented to the City: NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED: That said plans, specifications and special provisions be in all things approved. Resolution No. 208 Adopted January 30, 1956 On motion of Councilman Davis, seconded by Councilman Jorvig, the following resolution having been read was adopted by the unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present: RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENT OF MINNETONKA BOULEVARD WHEREAS, the City Council has met at the time and place specified in the notice published in the St. Louis Park Dispatch January 19 and 26, 1956, relating to Improvement No. 56-1 and has heard all interested persons appearing at said meeting, and the Council having secured from the City Engineer a report advising in a preliminary way that the proposed improvement is feasible and that it should best be made as proposed and not in connection with any other improvement; and an estimate of cost of said improvement has been furnished by the City Engineer and the County Engineer of Hennepin County, therefore BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park that im- provement designated as 56-1 for the improvement of Minnetonka Boulevard from Dakota Avenue to Wyoming Avenue by placing a concrete pavement 38 feet wide, including integral curb, necessary storm sewer, driveways and repair or replace- ment of existing sidewalks, be hereby ordered in accordance with plans and spec- ifications which have been prepared by the County Engineer of Hennepin County as County Project No. 5226 and which are on file in the office of the City Eng- ineer and are hereby approved, the said improvement to be undertaken as a joint project between the City of St. Louis Park and the. County of Hennepin on the basis of division of the cost between the City and the County as follows: The City shall pay all costs for the outer 12 feet of concrete pavement and the total cost of construction of all concrete curb and gutter, concrete driveway entrances to pri- vate property, and all appurtenances that may be required for the future installa- tion of traffic signals or street lighting system; the balance of dost (except engineering and preparation of blank which is,to be paid by the County) is to be divided between the City and the County equally. The work is to be.done by con- tract let to,the lowest responsible bidder by the County in accordance with the provisions of law regulating letting of such contracts by the County; the City Manager and Mayor are hereby authorized to enter into agreement in writing which has been submitted by, the County providing for the undertaking of said project by the City and County on the basis above specified. 1 1
