HomeMy WebLinkAbout76 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1955/05/2338 Resolution No. 76 Adopted May 23, 1955 On motion of Councilman Hurd, seconded by Councilman Perkins, the following resolution having been read by the Secretary, was adopted by un- animous vote of all Members of the Council present. RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSED ALLOCATION OF COST OF PAVING WHEREAS the County Highway Engineer has submitted a proposed alloca- tion of costs for the proposed Improvement No. 55-42, paving of Excelsior Boulevard from Webster Avenue to the Hopkins -St. Louis Park boundary, on the basis of 43.8% to St. Louis Park; 52.9% to Hennepin County; and 3.3% to the City of Hopkins; BE IT RESOLVED that the said proposed allocation be hereby approved as the basis of allocation of cost of said project in the event that after public hearing thereon, the Council shall order the project to be undertaken. Resolution No. 77 Adopted June 6, 1955 On motion of Councilman Davis, seconded by Councilman Hurd, the follow- ing resolution having been read by the Secretary, was adopted by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present: RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENT OF EXCELSIOR BOULEVARD WHEREAS the City Council has met at the time and place specified in the notice published in the St. Louis Park Dispatch May 19 and 26, 1955, re- lating to the public improvements hereinafter described and has heard all in- terested persons appearing at said meeting and has secured from the City Eng- ineer a report advising it in a preliminary as to whether each proposed im- provement is feasible and as to whether it should best be made as proposed or in connection with some other improvement, and the estimated cost of the improvements as recommended; therefore BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park that the following public improvements be hereby ordered in accordance with plans and specifications which have been prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk, a hereby or IMPROVEMENT NO. 55-42 GRADING, PAVING WITH'CONCRETE, AN) CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION OF CURB AND GUTTER, SIDEWALK, AND STORM SEWERS, on' Excelsior Boulevard between Webster Avenue and the St. Louis Park -Hopkins Boundary. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this project shall be undertaken as a joint project between the County of Hennepin and the City of St. Louis Park, and the Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized to enter into contract proposed by the county providing for acquisition of easements and right-ofway by the City, and contract for construction, the cost of construction to be contributed on the basis of 43.8% by the City, and 52.9% by the County, with the understanding that 3.3% will be contributed by the City of Hopkins, provided that the Bureau of Public Roads of the Department of Commerce of the U,S. Government shall con- tribute the sum of $170,000,of which sum 43.8% will be credited against and re- duce to that extent, the share of the total cost of the project to be contributed by the City of,St. Louis Park.
