Any and all persons engaged in the aforesaid maintenance work to be per- formed by the City shall be considered employees of the City and any and all claims that may or might arise under the Workrgen?s Compensation Act of this State on behalf of said employees while so engaged, and any and all claims made by a ny third party as a consequence of any act or omission on the part of said City Employees while so engaged in any of the work contemplated herein shall be the sole obligation and respsaonsibility of the City. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Manager be and they hereby are authorized to execute such agreement. Resolution No. 52 On motion of Councilman Bolmgren, seconded resolution having been read by the Secretary, all Members of the Council present: Adopted April 18, 1955 by Councilman Hurd, the following was adopted by unanimous vote of RESOLUTION ORDERING WATER MAIN EXTENSION WHEREAS the City Council has met at the time and place specified in the notice published in the St. Louis Park Dispatch March 31 and April 7, 1955, relating to the public improvements hereinafter described and has heard all interested per- sons appearing at said meeting and has secured from the City Engineer a report ad- vising it in a preliminary way as to whether each proposed improvement is feas- ible and as to whether it should best be made as proposed or in connection with some other improvement, and the estimated cost of the improvements as recommended; therefore BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park that the following public improvements be hereby ordered in accordance withplans and spec- ifications which have been prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk, ,and the City Clerk is hereby directed to advertise for bids at such time as it shall be determined by the City Manager that this improvement may be done by contract with other water main improvements. IMPROVEMENT NO. 55-17 WATER MAIN EXTENSION LOCATION In West 35th Street from Aquila Avenue to Boone Avenue. Extension in Boone Avenue from West 35th Street north 360 feet is hereby elim- inated from this proceeding. Resolution No. 53 Adopted April 18, 1955 On motion of Councilman Middleton, seconded by Councilman Jorvig, the following resolution having been read by the Secretary, was adopted by unanimous vote of all Members of the Councilpresent: RESOLUTION ORDERING SANITARY SEWER EXTENSIONS WHEREAS the City Council has met at the time and place specified in the notice published in the,St. Louis Park Dispatch March 31 and April 7, 1955, relating to the public improvements hereinafter described and has heard all interested persons appearing at said meeting acid has secured from the City Engineer a report advising it in a preliminary way as to whether each proposed improvement is feasible and as to whether it should best be made as proposed or in connection with some other improvement, and the estimated cost of the improvements as recomm- ended; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park /that the following public improvements be hereby ordered in accordance with plans and spec- ifications which have been prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to advertise for bids which will be opened by the City Manager, June 8, 1955. 25 Resolution No. 53 - Continued SANITARY SEWER EXTENSIONS IMPROVEMENT NO. LOCATIONS 55-15 In Brunswick Avenue from West 28th Street to West 29th'Street 55-16 In Colorado Avenue from Minnetonka Boulevard to West 29th Street 55-18 In Blackstone Avenue from Minnetonka Boulevard to West 28th Street. Resolution No. 54 Adopted April 18, 1955 On motion of Councilman Perkins, seconded by Councilman Middleton, the follow- ing resolution was adopted by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present: RESOLUTION CANCELING 53-90 GRADING #505 ASSESSMENT WHEREAS it appears that by resolution of the Village Council adopted August 15, 1954, levying assessments for 53-90 Grading #505, the following lot was in- advertantly assessed; and WHEREAS the West half of Pennsylvaniaenue (which includes the above lot) was -graded at the time the Plat of Turf & Paddock Addition was accepted by the Village; therefore BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park that the en- tire assessment for years 1955 thru 1957 heretofore levied against the following lot be canceled, and that the Auditor and the Treasurer of Hennepin County be here- by authorized to cancel the same 'upon their respective records. AMOUNTS TO BE CANCELED NAMES & ADDRESS LOT ADDITION TOTAL PRIN 1955 1956 1957 Donald Blumberg 7600 W. 14th Street 1 Turf & Paddock 217.15 72.38 83.24 79.62 76.00 Resolution No. 55 Adopted April 18, 1955 On motion of Councilman Jorvig, seconded by Councilman Bolmgren, the following resolution having been -read by the Secretary, was adopted by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present: RESOLUTION APPROVING PERMANENT BUS ROUTES BE IT RESOLVED that the routes for bus operations of Minneapolis Street Rail- way heretofore approved as temporary routes over France Avenue from its most northerly intersection with the east boundary of the Cicy, southerly to West 26th Street alp thence West on West 26th Street to Natchez Avenue, and also south on France Avenue from West 26th Street to Minnetonka Boulevard be hereby approved as permanent routes, subject to the reserved right of the Council to impose such re- gulations relating to use of such streets for bus purposes as may be deemed proper. Resolution No. 56 Adopted April 25, 1955 On motion of Councilman Jorvig, seconded by Councilman Hurd, the following re- solution having been read by the Secretary, was adopted by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present: RESOLUTION MEMORIALIZING THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES IN OPPOSITION TO THE SO -_CALLED HARRIS BILL (H.R. 4560)
