Adopted January 3, 1955
On motion of Trustee Davis, seconded by Trustee Jorvig, the following reso-
lution was adopted by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council:
RESOLUTION FOR ORGANIZATION OF COMMUNITY COUNCIL
BE IT RESOLVED that the Village Council, recognizing the need for an expanded
facility for the dissemination of information to its citizens, for a group of
persons active in the Village to hear and discuss Village problems, and to carry
out Community programs relating to the governmental and civic projects in the Village,
does hereby authorize the formation under the sponsorship of the Village Council of
a Community Council composed of one member of each organization, club, or other
association of persons for other than a business or political purpose which desires
membership in the Community`Council. This group shall(not be deemed to have any
governmental authority.

Hearing on Petition for Vacating Alley - WACO Mfg. Co.
Hearing was had on petition of WACO Manufacturing Company and others to vacate
alley in Block,29, Rearrangement of St. Louis Park. No persons appeared.
Resolution
On motion of Councilman Bolmgren, seconded by Councilman Jorvig, the following
resolution was adopted by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present:
RESOLUTION VACATING ALLEY
WHEREAS, a proper petition, signed by WACO Manufacturing Company and others
who are a majority of owners of property abutting on the west one-half of the
alley in Block 29, Rearrangement of St. Louis Park, adjacent,to Lots 6, 7, 8, and
20 of, said nook, has been filed with the Village Council of the Village of St.
park, pursuant to motion of the Village Council of the Village of St. Louis Park
notice was published in the St. Louis Park Dispatch on December 23 and 31, 1954
that a hearing would be had on said petition on January 10, 1955, and the City
Council of the City of St. Louis Park(has met at the time and place specified in
said notice and conducted said hearing, the,said City of St. Louis Park having
succeeded the Village by reason of adoption of a Home Rule Charter which became
effective January 7, 1955, and the City Council having determined that it is in
the public interest that said alley be vacated, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park that the
west one-half of alley as now dedicated and laid out in Block 29, rearrangement
of St. Louis,Park, adjacent to Lots 6, 7, 8, and 20 of said Block, be hereby
vacated.
