RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City Council on June 27, 1955, adopted a resolution authoriz-
ing the taking by condemnation proceedings of certian.lands and slope easements
in connection with Imp. No. 55-42, widening and grading of Excelsior Boulevard
from Webster APenue to the Hopkins-St.•Louis Park Boundary,• and
WHEREAS, it appears unnecessary t� take the lands described in Parcels 10
and 11 listed in said resolution, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis -Park that the
taking of the lands described in said Parcels 10 and 11 be hereby abandoned and
the City -Attorney be authorized to withdraw the said tracts•from.theproceedings
for condemnation entitled City of St. Louis Park v Alda F. Haskell et al.

On motion -of Councilman Middletoni seconded by Councilman Davis, the follow-
ing resolution having been read was adopted by unanimous vote of all Members of
the Council present:
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, if this country is attacked, the primary objective of the enemy
will include centers of industrial production, and concentrated on our civilian
population; and
WHEREAS, the capabilities of nuclear and other weapons are so great that
an attack; if successful,. will result in damage and casualties far beyond,the
resources of any community; and
WHEREAS, the'St. Paul -Minneapolis Metropolitan•.area is officially listed
by the Federal Government as one of 70, critical target areas,in.the Nation; and
WHEREAS, the Federal Civil Defense Administration has invited the State of
Minnesota to participate in the National Survival Plan Project.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that:

the political subdivision of St. Louis Park, State of Minnesota, will cooperate
to the full extent of our capabilities with the State of Minnesota and the Feder-
al Government in the study and development of civil defense measures, designed
to afford maximum protection of life and property through participation in the
Survival Plan project financed entirely by the Federal Civil Defense Administration.
