SIDEWALK CONSTRUCTION IMPROVEMENT NO. 55-96 North side of West 36th Street from Texas Avenue to Zinran Avenue The bid of Victor Carlson U Sons Inc.- received' September 19, 1955 is accepted as the lowest bid of a responsible bidder and the Mayor and City Manager are auth- orized to execute contract in behalf of the City. t t t e Resolution No. 157 Adopted October 3, 1955 On motion of Councilman Bolmgren, seconded by Councilman Hurd, Resolution No. 157, APPROVING 1955 LEVY, COLLECTABLE in 1956, having been read by the Secretary, was adopted by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present. RESOLUTION APPROVING 1955 LEVY, COLLECTABLE IN 1956 RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park, Hennepin County, Minnesota, that the following sums of money be levied for the current year, coll- ectable in 1956, upon the taxable property in said City of St. Louis Park, for the following purposes: General Fund Park Fund Civil Defense Interceptor, Sewer Firemen's Relief Association Police Relief Association $612,643.00 36,359.00 5,453.00 2,902.00 18,179.00 18,179.00 TOTAL --- $ 693.715.00 Resolution No. 158 Adopted October.3, 1955 On motion of Councilman Perkins, seconded by -Councilman Jorvig, the follow- ing resolution, having been read by the Secretary, was adopted by unanimous vote of all members of the Council present: RESOLUTION LEVYING ASSESSMENT FOR COLLECTION AN DISPOSAL OF GARBAGE AND REFUSE WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore determined by Ordinance No. 460 that the owners of all property in the City served by the garbage and refuse collection service of the City shall be obligated to pay the sum of $16.90,per. dwelling to the City Treasurer on or before September 1, 1955, forithe cost of such service for the 12 -month period ending September 1, 1955, and WHEREAS, the City Clerk has prepared as assessment roll setting forth an assessment in the sum of $16.90 against each dwelling served by the garbage and refuse collection service of the City during said 12 -month period prior to September 1, 1955, and at a proportionate sum per dwelling served only during a portion of said 12 -month period, therefore 8'7 Resolution No. 158 - continued BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park that said assessment roll is hereby adopted and approved, and there is hereby levied and assessed against each and every tract of land described therein an assessment in the amounts respectively therein set forth, which assessments are hereby determined to represent the cost of collection of garbage and refuse from said respective premises during the 12 -month period ending September 1, 1955. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be hereby authorized to deliver said assessment rolls to the Auditor of Hennepin County for collection of the assessments therein set forth inlike manner as state, county and other taxes are collected and payment thereof enforced. Resolution No. 159 Adopted October 3, 1955 On motion of Councilman Davis, seconded by Councilman Jorvig, Resolution No. 159 was adopted by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present. RESOLUTION INCREASING, AMOUNT IN DEPOSITORY BANK (PARK PLAZA) WHEREAS at the meeting of the City Council held August 8, 1955, the Park - Plaza State Bank of St. Louis Park was designated as a depository for City funds, in particular, advance payments of deferred instalments of special assessments, in -an aggregate amount not to exceed $100,000.00, and WHEREAS the advance payments of deferred instalments of special assessments are getting larger, so that the account will soon exceed the $100,000.00, BE IT RESOLVED-that.the aggregate amount of said deposits with said Deposi- tory Bank shall be increased to $150,000.00 at any one time; provided that said Bank deposit with the Marquette National Bank of Minneapolis for the Treasurer of the City, securities of such kind and amount as to comply with Masons Minnesota Statutes, 1927, Section 1973-1 and furnishes the Treasurer of the City with an assignment of said securities as provided by said statute. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Treasurer be authorized to invest a portion of these receipts in Park -Plaza State Bank one year certificates of de- posit up to the amount of $100,000.00 at 2% rate of interest, but that these certificates of deposits and the cash balance in the account together shall not exceed $150,000.00 at any one time. Resolution No. 160 Adopted October 10, 1955 On motion of Councilman Bolmgren, seconded by Councilman Middleton, the following resolution having been read was adopted by the unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present: RESOLUTION ORDERING WATER MAIN EXTENSION WHEREAS the City Council has met at the time and place specified in the notice published in the St. Louis Park Dispatch September 29 and October 6, 1955, relat- ing to the public improvements hereinafter described and has heard all interested persons appearing at said meeting and has secured from the City Engineer,a report advising it in a preliminary way as to whether each proposed improvement is feas- ible and as to whether it should best be made as proposed or in connection with some other improvements, and the estimated cost of the improvements; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park that the following public improvements he hereby ordered in accordance with plans and specifications which have been prepared by the,City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to advertise for bids which will be opened by the City Manager October 31, 1955, at 10:00 a.m. - WATER MAIN EXTENS ION IMPROVEMENT N0. LOCATION 55-104 In Texas Avenue from Cedar Lake Road to Franklin Avenue
