Resolution No. 154 Adopted September 26, 1955
On motion of Councilman Davis, seconded by Councilman Hurd, the following
resolution having been read was adopted by unanimous vote of all members of the
Council present:
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING RECONVEYANCE OF TAX -FORFEITED LANDS
WHEREAS, the lands hereinafter described were conveyed to the Village of
St. Louis Park by conveyances dated July 30, 1942, and September 21, 1948, as
tax -forfeited lands to be used as a public park, and the City Council now deems
it inadvisable to devote said lands to public park purposes, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park that the
Mayor and City Manager be hereby authorized to execute deed of reconveyance to
the State of Minnesota of the following described lands previously conveyed to
the City as tax -forfeited lands:
Lots 6, 7, 8, 9, 17, 18, 21, 23, 24 and 25, in Block 1;
Lots 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 15 and 16, in Block 2;
Lots 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9, in Block 3;
all in Westmoreland Park, according to the plat thereof on file and of
record in the office of the Register of Deeds in and for said Hennepin
County.

On motion of Councilman Hurd, seconded by Councilman Perkins, the following
resolution having been read was adopted by unanimous vote of all members of the
Council present:
RESOLUTION SETTING HEARING ON PROPOSED ACQUISITION OF
LAND FOR STORM SEWER OUTLET
WHEREAS, as action is pending in the District Court of Hennepin County,
commenced by the owners of premises in Section 8 and 9, Township 117, Range 21,
claiming damages account of flowage of waters from Storm Sewer District No. 17
of the City over said premises, and
WHEREAS, it is deemed desirable to acquire said lands as an outlet for such
Storm Sewer District No. 17 at an estimated cost of $22,000., therefore
BE IT RESOLVED that the Clerk be directed to publish notice of hearing to be
held at the Council meeting October 10, 1955, on the proposed acquisition of said
lands to serve as an outlet for said Storm Sewer District No. 17, and that the area
proposed to be assessed for the cost of acquiring said lands shall be said Storm
Sewer District No. 17 and in addition thereto that part of Sec. 8, Twp.117, R. 21,
lying southerly of the Great Northern Ry. right-of-way and north of the northerly
boundary of said Storm Sewer District No. 17 and east of Louisiana Avenue.

On motion of Councilman Hurdiy seconded by Councilman Bolmgren, the following
resolution having been read was adopted by the unanimous vote of all Members of
the Council present:
RESOLUTION ORDERING SIDEWALK CONSTRUCTION
WHEREAS the City Council has met at the time and place specified in the notice
published in the St. Louis Park Dispatch September 8 Ee 15, 1955, relating to the
public improvements hereinafter described and has.heard all interested persons
appearing at said meeting and has secured from the City Engineer a rePor_t, advising
it in a preliminary way as to whether each proposed improvement is feasible and as

to whether it should best be made as proposed or in connection with some other
improvements, and the estimated cost of the improvements;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the dity Council of the City of St. Louis Park
that the following public improvements be hereby ordered in accordance with plans
and specifications which have been prepared by the City Engineer and filed with
the City Clerk, the cost to be assessed equally against property abutting on the
south and north side of 36th Street where the walk is to be constructed.

The bid of Victor Carlson U Sons Inc.- received' September 19, 1955 is accepted
as the lowest bid of a responsible bidder and the Mayor and City Manager are auth-
orized to execute contract in behalf of the City. t t

On motion of Councilman Bolmgren, seconded by Councilman Hurd, Resolution
No. 157, APPROVING 1955 LEVY, COLLECTABLE in 1956, having been read by the
Secretary, was adopted by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present.
RESOLUTION APPROVING 1955 LEVY, COLLECTABLE IN 1956
RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park, Hennepin County,
Minnesota, that the following sums of money be levied for the current year, coll-
ectable in 1956, upon the taxable property in said City of St. Louis Park, for
the following purposes:
General Fund
Park Fund
Civil Defense
Interceptor, Sewer
Firemen's Relief Association
Police Relief Association

On motion of Councilman Perkins, seconded by -Councilman Jorvig, the follow-
ing resolution, having been read by the Secretary, was adopted by unanimous vote
of all members of the Council present:
RESOLUTION LEVYING ASSESSMENT FOR COLLECTION
AN DISPOSAL OF GARBAGE AND REFUSE
WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore determined by Ordinance No. 460
that the owners of all property in the City served by the garbage and refuse
collection service of the City shall be obligated to pay the sum of $16.90,per.
dwelling to the City Treasurer on or before September 1, 1955, forithe cost of
such service for the 12 -month period ending September 1, 1955, and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk has prepared as assessment roll setting forth an
assessment in the sum of $16.90 against each dwelling served by the garbage and
refuse collection service of the City during said 12 -month period prior to
September 1, 1955, and at a proportionate sum per dwelling served only during a
portion of said 12 -month period, therefore
