HomeMy WebLinkAbout135 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1955/08/2972 Resolution No. 135 'Adopted August 29, 1955 - On motion of Councilman Bolmgren, seconded by Councilman Middleton, the following resolution having been read by the Secretary, was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the Council present: RESOLUTION SETTING HEARING ON PROPOSED SANITARY SEWER CONSTRUCTION WHEREAS, it appears necessary, in order that sanitary sewers be constructed within the area of the.City hereinafter described to be designated as Sanitary Sewer District No. 4.., That provision be made for obtaining an outlet for said sewers thru,the Village of Golden Valley into the sanitary sewer system of the City of Minneapolis, and WHEREAS, negotiations have'been completed for a proposed contract,between the City of St. Louis Park and the Village of Golden Valley for interconnection of sewer systems of said municipalities in order that the said portion of the sanitary sewer system of the City of St. Louis Park may be drained thru the sani- tary sewer system of the Village of Golden Valley into the sanitary sewer system ` of the City of Minneapolis, and pursuant to said proposed agreement it is necess- ary that the City of St. Louis Park contribute to the cost of interceptor sewer to be constructed by the Village of Golden Valley in the said Village and in the City of Minneapolis which will be used jointly by said Village and the City of St. Louis Park and will serve as an outlet for said portion of the sewer system of the City of St. Louis Park, therefore BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council thatthe,Clerk be directed to'publish notice of hearing to be held at the Council meeting September 12,. 1955, on proposed construction of interceptor sewers to be constructed by the Village of Golden Valley from the St. Louis Park Golden Valley boundary at Ortler Pass within the Village of Golden Valley and the City of Minneapolis to the Sanitary Sewer system of the City of Minneapolis to provide and outlet for that portion of the sanitary s• sewer system of the City of St. Louis Park which lies within that portion of the City lying north of a line described as follows, which portion of the city shall be the area proposed to be assessed for the portion of.the cost of said inter- ceptor sewers which shall be paid by the City of St. Louis Park. The line above referred to is described as follows: Commencing at the intersection of the St. -Louis Park - Hopkins boundary with Minnehaha Creek; thence Ntly and Wtly along Minnehaha Creek to the point of intersec- tion of the right-of-way of the Great Northern R.R. spur track; thence filly along said right-of-way to its intersection with Minnetonka Blvd; thence west along Minne- babaxamAxxidca Boulevard to Virginia Avenu hence north inVirginia Avenue to the north line of Lot 27, Texa-Tonka; thence &X along said north line to the NE corner of Lot 27; thence NEIy along the northerly lines of Lots 24 to 20 inclusive; thence North on the West line of Lot 14 Tella-Tonka to theNW corner of said Lot; thence East along the north line of said Lot 14 to Texas Avenue, and continuing east parall- al with Minnetonka Boulevard to the West line of Block 4 East. Texa-Tonka along said west line to W. 29th Street; thence east in W. 29th Street to a.point midway between Quebec'Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue; thence north parallel with Pennsylvania Avenue to W. 28th Street; thence East in W. 28th Street to the center line of Block 3, High Holborn; thence south on the center line of Blocks 3 and 6, High Holborn to the north line of Block 10, said Block 6; thence east of the north line of Lots 10 to 8, Block -6, BIN 12 to 8, Block 7, and 12 to 8, Block 8, High Holborn, to Louis- iana Avenue;, thence SEtly to alley in Block 16, the Bronx; thence east along said alley continuing east along alleys in Blocks 17, 18 and 19 to the north and south alley in said Block 19, The`Bronx; thence north in north -south alleys in Blocks 19 and 12, The Bronx, to W. 28th Street; thence east in W. 28th Street to alley in Block 10, The Bronx; thence north in said alley to W. 27th Steeet; thence east in W. 27th Street to alley in Block 6, Park Manor; thence south along the alley in Block 6, Park Manor, to W. 28th Street; thence.east,in W. 28th Street to Zarthan Avenue and continuing east to intersection of W. 28th Street with alley in Block 2, American Security_Inv. Co's 2nd Addition; thence north along said alley to W. 27th Street; thence west along`W. 27th Street to a point midway between Xenwood Avenue and Yosemite Avenue; thence north parallel with Xenwood Avenue to West 26th Street; thence east in W. 26th Street and the same extended east to point of intersection with center line of alley in Block 2, American Security Inv. Co's Oak Terrace extended north; thence south along said extended line to W. 26th Street; thence east along W. 26th Street to point of intersection of center line of alley in Blakeman's 3rd Addition; thence south along the center line of said alley and continuing south along the center line of alley in Block 1, Oak Lawn, to W. 27th 73 Resolution No. 135 continued Street; thence east in W. 27th Street and -the same extended east to point'of inter- section of center line of Block 9, Thorpe Bros. Cedar Lake Heights extended south; thence north along_said extended line along the center line of said Block 9 and the same extended north to point of intersection of center line of Block 1, Basswood, extended"west;-thence east along said center line so extended to the east line of Lot 3, Block 1, Basswood;- thence north along said line to Cedarwood Road; thence east in Cedarwood Road to the St. Louis Park -Minneapolis boundary. The estimated cost of the portion of said project to be paid by the City of St. Louis Park is $170,000.00. Resolution No. 136 - Adopted September 6, 1955 On motion of Councilman Bolmgren, seconded by Councilman Middleton, the following resolution, having been read by the Secretary, was adopted by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present: RESOLUTION SETTING HEARING ON PROPOSED SEWER CONSTRUCTION BE IT RESOLVED that the Clerk be directed to publish notice of hearing to be held at the Council meeting September 19, 1955, on proposed Sanitary Sewer, Improve- ment No. 55-55 to be constructed in Colorado Avenue from 28th Street to 29th Street at an estimated cost of $6,644.00, abutting property to be assessed, all as recomm- ended by the City Engineer. Resolution No. 137 Adopted September 6, 1955 On motion of Councilman Perkins, seconded by Councilman Bolmgren, the follow- ing resolution, having been read by the Secretary, was adopted by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present: RESOLUTION SETTING HEARING ON PROPOSED SIDEWALK CONSTRUCTION RESOLVED by the City Council that the Clerk publish notice of hearing to be held at the Council meeting September 26, 1955, on proposed Sidewalk, Improvement No. 55-100 to be constructed on the West Side of Texas Avenue from State Highway No. 7 north to existing sidewalk adjacent to Park Knoll School, at an estimated cost of $750.00, the adjacent property to be assessed. Resolution No. 138 Adopted September 6, 1955 On motion of Councilman Davis, seconded by Councilman Bolmgren,.,the,following; resolution, having been read by the Secretary, was adopted"by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council present: RES0LUT'I0N WHEREAS, the Council in a resolution dated October 9, 1950 reserved the right to direct the transfer of moneys from the Permanent Improvement Revolving Fund to the Permanent Improvement Revolving Fund Sinking Fund to reduce the Permanent Improvement Revolving Fund in amounts sufficient to pay principal and interest on the Permanent Improvement Revolving Fund, October 1, 1948 Series bonds maturing during the next year and reserved the right to cancel the deferred tax levy to be spread in that year; now therefore BE IT RESOLVED that the 1955 levy for payment of said principal and interest contained in the resolution adopted October 9, 1950 is hereby canceled in the sum of $27,132,00, and the city Clerk is hereby instructed to send a copy of this resolution to the County Auditor of Hennepin County, Minnesota.
