HomeMy WebLinkAbout129 - ADMIN Resolution - City Council - 1955/08/29Resolution No. 128 - continued 67 Commencing at the intersection of Division Street and Texas Avenue; thence north in Texas Avenue to the north line of Lot 14, Block 2, Texa-Tonka; thence west along the north lot line of Lots 14, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 27, Block 2, Texa-Tonka to Virginia Avenue; thence south in Virginia Avenue to Minnetonka Boulevard; thence west in Minnetonka Boulevard to the right-of-way of Great Northern R.R.Hopkins spur track; thence SW'ly along said right-of-way to Minnehaha Creek; thence SE'ly along,Minnehaha Creek to its intersection with the St. Louis Park -Hopkins boundary; thence east along an extension of Division Street to the point of beginning in Texas Avenue. Also, commencing at the intersection of the right-of-way of Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul Fa Pacific R. Resolution No. 129 Adopted August 29. 1955 On motion of Councilman Bolmgren, seconded by Councilman Middleton, the following resolution having been read was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the Council present: RESOLUTION ORDERING CURB AND GUTTER, AND SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS WHEREAS the City Council has met at the time and place specified in the notice published in the St. Louis Park Dispatch August 18 and 25, 1955, relat- ing to the public improvements hereinafter described and has heard all interested persons appearing at said meeting and has secured from the City Engineer a re- port advising it in a preliminary way as to whether each proposed improvement is feasible and as to whether it should best be made as proposed or in connec- tion with some other improvements, and the estimated cost of the improvements; `THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park that the following public improvements be hereby ordered in accordance with plans and specifications which have been prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to advertise for bids which will be opened by the City Manager September 19, 1955 at 10:00 o'clock A.M. Resolution No. 130 Adopted August 29, 1955 On motion of Councilman Middleton, seconded by Councilman Hurd, the foll- owing resolution having been read was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the Council present: RESOLUTION ORDERING RECONSTRUCTION OF SANITARY SEWER AS OUTLET TO SANITARY SEWER DISTRICT NO. 2 WHEREAS, the City of Minneapolis has notified the City of St. Louis Park, pursuant to the provisions of contract for interconnection of sewers heretofore entered into between the Village (now City) of St. Louis Park and said City of Minneapolis, dated March 4, 1940 that Sanitary Sewer of the City of Minneapolis in W. 38th St. between Drew Ave. So. and Xerxes Ave. So. which serves as an out- let for District Sanitary Sewer No. 2 of the City of St.'Louis Park is of insuff- icent size and capacity for the volume of sewage which it is now receiving from said Sanitary Sewer District No. 2, and that reconstruction and enlargement of said sewer is necessary, and WHEREAS, the City Council has met at the time and place specified in the notice published in the St. Louis Park Dispatch August 18 and 25, 1955, relat- ing to reconstruction of said sewer, and has heard all interested persons appear- ing at said meeting and determined the necessity for said sewer construction, and WHEREAS, pursuant to contract between the Village (now -City) of St. Louis Park and the City of Hopkins -25% of the cost of said sewer construction is to be paid by said City of Hopkins, therefore. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of St. Louis Park that the City of Minneapolis be, hereby authorized to proceed with reconstruction'of San- itary Sewer in W. 38th Street in the City of Minneapolis between Drew Ave. So. and Xerxes Ave. S. in accordance with the plans and specifications for the same which have been prepared by the City Engineer 6f the City of Minneapolis, the work to be done under the provisions of said contract for said interconnection of sewers between the Village (now City) of St. Louis Park and the City of Minnea- polis. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Treasurer be authorized to deposit with the City Treasurer of the City of Minneapolis the sum of $138,932.47, the estimated cost as furnished by the City of Minneapolis, and that the City of Hopkins be requested to reimburse the City of St. Louis Park in the sum of25% of said amount. Resolution No. 131 Adopted August 29, 1955 On motion of Councilman Hurd, seconded by Councilman Middleton, the reading of the following resolution having been waived, was adopted by unanimous vote of all Members of the Council: RESOLUTION ORDERING BITUMINOUS STREET SURFACING AND OIL STABILIZED BASE WHEREAS the City Council has met at the time and place specified in the notice published in the St. Louis Park Dispatch August 11 and 18, 1955, relating
