LOUIS PARK ORDINANCE CODE RELATING TO ZONING BY AMENDING SECTION 36-362(h)(5) THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK DOES ORDAIN: Findings Sec. 1. The City Council has considered the advice and recommendation of the Planning Commission (Case No. 10-19-ZA). Sec. 2. The St. Louis Park Ordinance Code, Section 36-362(h)(5) is hereby amended by deleting stricken language and adding underscored language. Sec. 36-362. sign regulations. *** *** *** (c) Definitions. The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this section, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this subsection, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning: Sign, political means a temporary sign, which advertises or promotes a candidate for public office, a political party, er an issue to be considered in a public election or any other message not classified as a commercial message. (h) Special provisions. In addition to the general provisions contained in subsection (0 of this section, these special provisions apply to the following types of signs: (5) political signs. a. Political signs arc permittcd in the front yard. Ordinance No. 2391-10 -2- signs erected or placed bcforc the primary election by or for that candidate may be a. Political signs of any size are permitted in any number from 46 days before a primary election, or the general election if a primary election is not held. b. Political signs must be removed within ten days after the general election has been held. c. Political signs shall not be placed on the public right-of-way or any publicly owned property, including boulevard trees and utility poles. d. Political signs shall not obstruct the vision at an intersection or otherwise constitute a hazard to public safety. Sec. 3. The contents of Planning Case File 10-19-ZA are hereby entered into and made part of the public hearing record and the record of decision for this case. Sec. 4. This Ordinance shall take effect fifteen days after its publication.
