HomeMy WebLinkAbout2098-97 - ADMIN Ordinance - City Council - 1997/08/181 ORDINANCE NUMBER 2 0 9 8 9 7 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO LAWFUL GAMBLING; AMENDING SECTIONS 13-1602 THROUGH 13-1604. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. Section 13-1602 (e) is amended to read: Section 13-1602 Gambling Prohibited: Exemption (e) Lawful gambling may be conducted without a premises permit if the organization conducts gambling on five or fewer days in a calendar year, does not award more than $50,000 in prizes in a calendar year, and receives an exemption from the State Gambling Board. If there is no regularly scheduled Council meeting prior to the date of the proposed event, the City Manager, or designee, may approve a waiver of the thirty day waiting period. Section 2. Section 13-1603 (b) is amended to read: Section 13-1603 Application. (b) An organization holding a premises permit must notify the City in writing within 10 days whenever any material change is made in the above information. Said information shall be forwarded to the police investigator. Section 3 Section 13-1604 (b) is amended to read: Section 13-1604. City Investigation Fee. (b) The Police and Inspections Departments shall investigate each applicant and report their findings and recommendations to the City Council through the City Manager. ISection 4. Severability and Savings Clause If any section or portion of this ordinance shall be found unconstitutional or otherwise invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that finding shall not serve as an invalidation or affect the validity and enforceability of any other section or provision of this ordinance. v. Section 5. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect fifteen days after publication. Adopted by the City Council August 18, 1997.
