HomeMy WebLinkAbout95-2041 - ADMIN Ordinance - City Council - 1995/10/02ORDINANCE NO. g5_2041 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO PERMIT FEES; AMENDING SECTIONS 15-211, 15-241, 15-242, 15-252, 15-253, 15-261 and 15-262 THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. Section 15-211.102 is amended to read: Section 15-211.102. Permit Fees. (1) Building Permit Fees. A fee for each building permit shall be paid to the City as set forth in the applicable table or schedule of the current version of the Uniform Building Code, hereinafter referred to as the building permit fee schedule, as may be amended from time to time. The permit fee shall be based on building valuation determined by the use of current building valuation data provided by the Building Codes and Standards Division of the Minnesota Department of Administration. A copy of this building permit fee schedule shall be available in the office of the City Clerk and the Department of Inspections. Where work for which a permit is required by this Building Code is started or proceeded prior to obtaining said permit, the fees specified in the building permit fee schedule shall be doubled, but the payment of such double fee shall not relieve any persons from fully complying with the requirements of this Building Code in the execution of the work nor from any other penalties prescribed herein. A plan review fee of 65 percent of the building permit fee shall be paid to the City at the time of submitting plans and specifications. (State surcharge is .0005 of building valuation under $1,000,000 or 50C, whichever is greater. For valuations over $1,000,000 call the Inspections Department for surcharge fee) (The Metropolitan Council's Sewer Availability Charge (SAC) is required for all new construction and certain alterations and additions.) Section 2. Section 15-241 is amended to read: Section 15-241., Permit Issuance and Insurance and Bond Designation (1) Permit Issuance. It shall be unlawful for any person to do any plumbing work without first obtaining a permit from the City; such permits shall be issued the only to persons licensed as plumbers by the City, or to persons making application to do any such work wholly within a residence owned and occupied by the applicant to whom the permit is to be issued. Permits for the installation of water softeners in single family dwellings shall also be issued to state licensed, bonded and insured water softener installers. Section 3. Section 15-242 (1) is amended to read: Section 15-242. Permit Fees. The fees for such permits shall be as follows. (1) Minimum Fees. In no case shall the fee charged for any permit issued under this ordinance be less than $21.00. Section 4. Section 15-252 is amended to read: Section 15-252. Permits. It shall be unlawful for any person to do any work described in Section 15-250 without first obtaining a permit from the City. Such permits shall be issued by the City only to persons licensed under Section 13-210 (Gas) and Section 13-220 (Heat, Ventilating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning) of this Code or to persons making application to do any such work wholly within a residence owned and occupied by the applicant to whom the permit is to be issued. Section 5. Section 15-253 (1) is amended to read: Section 15-253. Permit Fees. (1) Minimum Fee: In no case shall the fee charged for any permit issued under this ordinance be less than $21.00. Section 6. Section 15-261 is amended to read: Section 15-261. permits. It shall be unlawful for any person to do any work described in Section 15-260 of this ordinance without first obtaining a permit from the City. Such permits shall by issued by the City only to persons duly licensed with required insurance and/or bonding under State law or to a person making application to do any such work wholly within a single-family dwelling owned and occupied by the applicant to whom the permit is to be issued. Section 7. Section 15-262 (1) is amended to read: • Section 15-262. Permit Fees. The fees for electrical permits shall be as follows: (1) Minimum Fee - In no case shall the fee charged for any permit issued under this ordinance be less than $21.00. Section 8. Effective date.
