AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
ADDING SECTION 15-212.101.5
THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. Section 15-212.101.5 is added to read as follows:
Section 15-212.101.5. Temporary Certificate of Occupancy.
a. The City may issue a Temporary Certificate of Occupancy prior to the correction of
code violations if the building owner or tenant provides the City with a Statement of
Intent to Comply and the City makes a finding that no imminent hazard exists which
precludes occupancy and use of the building prior to completion of items noted in the
Statement of Intent to Comply.
b. The Statement of Intent to Comply shall list all required work and the correction dates
by which the required work must be completed. In the event that the work is not
completed on or before the date specified the Certificate of Occupancy shall become
null and void.
c. Failure to comply with the Statement of Intent to Comply shall be a violation of the St.
Louis Park Ordinance Code and shall be a misdemeanor.
d. The City shall not issue the 'Ibmporary Certificate of Occupancy unless the City is
named as an additional insured in the liability insurance policy for the property.
e. The owner, tenant or other person shall provide adequate surety in a form approved by
the City to cover the costs of the work required in the Statement of Intent to Comply
before the City shall issue the Temporary Certificate of Occupancy.
Section 2. Severability. If one or more of the provisions contained in this ordinance shall for
any reason be held to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable in any respect, such invalidity,
illegality or unenforceability shall not affect any other provision hereof, and this ordinance
shall be construed as if such invalid, illegal, or unenforceable provision had never been
contained herein.
Section 3. Penalty. Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished in accordance with Section 2-203 of the
St. Louis Park Municipal Code.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect 15 days after its publication.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE
ST LOUIS PARR ORDINANCE CODE
RELATING TO CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
This ordinance permits the City to issue a tempo-
rary Certificate of Occupancy prior to the comple-
tion of all required code improvements The property
owner would need to enter into an agreement with the
City specifying when the required work would be complet-
ed and give the City certain financial guarantees and
insurance coverage
