ORDINANCE NO. 93-1912
ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO PAY CLAIMS AGAINST THE CITY
WHEREAS, the City Council is authorized by Charter Section 3.06 to enact
an emergency ordinance to make provision for the preservation of the public
welfare; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is authorized by Charter Section 6.11 to adopt
ordinances to regulate the safekeeping and disbursement of the City's
funds; and
WHEREAS, the City Council will not hold its regularly scheduled meeting
of April 5, 1993; and
WHEREAS, the cancellation of this meeting will affect the ability of the
City to pay claims and obligations accumulated during the period from
March 15, 1993 through April 19, 1993 and may cause a negative impact
on the City's financial operations; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the inability to make timely payments
of its financial obligations is an emergency affecting the public welfare;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to make timely payment of claims and
obligations,
NOW BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of St. Louis Park that (1) the
City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to process the claims and
obligations and make payment on all reasonable and customary claims and
obligations on record as of April 5, 1993 and submit the list for Council
ratification on April 19, 1993; and (2) this ordinance shall automatically
stand repealed on the sixty-first (61) day following the date on which
if is adopted.
