LOUIS PARK MUNICIPAL CODE, "PAWNBROKERS", BY AMENDING SECTIONS 13-1321, 13-132, 13-1323, 13-1324(6), ADDING A NEW SECTION 13-1321.101, LIMITING THE NUMBER OF LICENSES, DELETING SECTIONS 13-1320(2) AND 13-1320(3), RELATING TO THE DEFINITION OF SECOND-HAND GOODS AND DEALERS, AND SECTIONS 13-1324(4) AND 13-1324(5) RELATING TO THE REGULATION OF SECOND-HAND DEALERS AND RENUMBERING SECTION 13-1324(6). THE CITY COUNCIL OF ST. LOUIS PARK ORDAINS: Section 1. The St. Louis Park Municipal Code, Sections 13-1320(2) and 13-1320(3) (Definitions of and relating to second-hand dealers and goods) are hereby deleted. Section 2,, The St. Louis Park Municipal Code, Section 13-1321 is amended to read as follows: Section_ 11-1321. Pawnb;Aker Lice,. No person shall engage in the business of pawnbroker in the City without first obtaining a license from the City Manager, authorizing him to do so. Section 3. The St. Louis Park Municipal Code, Section 13-1321.101 is added to read as follows: Section L3-1321,101. i N• - i The number of pawnbroker licenses issued in St. Louis Park in any calendar year shall not exceed three (3). Any pawnbroker with an existing license from the City shall be eligible to renew the license. Section 4. The St. Louis Park Municipal Code, Section 13-1322 is amended to read as follows: Sgction 13-1122. AonlicatiQn.. The application for any pawnbroker license shall be filed with the City Clerk and shall state the place where the applicant intends to engage in such pawnbroker business, the nature of the business which the applicant proposes to conduct, and such other information as the City Manager shall require. LireQse Fee., The annual fee for any pawnbroker license issued under this ordinance shall be $250. Section 5. The St. Louis Park Municipal Code, Sections 13-1324(4) and 13-1324(5) are hereby deleted. Section 13-1324(6) is renumbered as Section 13-1324(4) and is amended to read as follows: Section 13-1324. Reaulations. (4) Suvina from Certain Persons. No pawnbroker or anyone employed by or acting for a pawnbroker, shall purchase, take or receive any article of property, of or from any intoxicated person, nor of or from a minor, nor that owned by a minor, nor any stolen property, or property which, from any cause, he may have reason to believe or suspect, cannot be lawfully sold by the person offering it. Section 4. Effective Date.
