ORDINANCE NO. 1883-92
AN ORDINANCE DEWING ST. LOUIS PARK WARD BOUNDARIES FOLLOWING
THE 1990 U. S. DECENNIAL CENSUS: RECONFIRMING BOUNDARIES
ESTABLISHED BY ORDINANCE 1549, APRIL 19, 1982
THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. The St. Louis Park City Charter, Section 2.03, provides
that following each decennial census the City Council shall redetermine
ward boundaries to be as near equal in both population and area as
practicable.
Section 2. In accordance with City Charter Section 2.03, the City
Council hereby confirms that the existing wards substantially conform
to the equal population and area provision, and the hnundaries shall
remain as established by Ordinances 1211 and 1549 adopted in 1973 and
1982.
Section 3. The City Council further ordains that the legal
descriptions of the ward boundaries contained in Sections 4-101 through
4-104 of the City's Ordinance Code are revised to reflect current
railroad ownership and the Hennepin County standardized street names
and read as follows:
CHAPTER 4: ELECTIONS
PART 1 - Wards
,., Section 4-101. Ward Lines Established. Ward lines of the City are hereby
determined, and the City is divided into four separate wards as follows:
Ward No. 1 is described as follows: Commencing at the
intersection of the north City limits and the Soo Line Railroad tracks,
south along the Soo Line tracks to the Burlington Northern Railroad
tracks, west along the Burlington Northern tracks to Louisiana Ave S,
south along Louisiana Ave to Minnetonka Blvd, east along Minnetonka
Blvd to Dakota Ave S, south along Dakota Ave to the Soo Line Railroad
property, easterly along the Soo Line property to State Highway No 100 S,
north along Highway 100 to 29th St W, east along 29th St to Monterey
Pkwy, northeasterly along Monterey Pkwy to 28th St W, east along 28th St
to the east City limits, north along the east City limits to the north
City limits, west/northwest along the north City limits to its intersection
with the Soo Line Railroad tracks. Ward No. 1 shall be comprised of
Voting Precincts 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 as adopted by Resolution of the City
Council.
Section 4-102. Ward No. 2 is described as follows: Commencing at the
intersection of the Soo Line Railroad property with the west City limits,
south and east along the west City limits to the south City limits,
easterly along the south City limits to the east City limits, north and
east along the east City limits to 28th St W, east along 28th St to
Monterey Pkwy, southwesterly along Monterey Pkwy to 29th St W, west
along 29th St to State Hwy No 100 S, south along Hwy 100 to the Soo Line
Railroad property, west along the Soo Line Property to its intersection
with the west City limits. Ward No. 2 shall be comprised of Voting
Precincts 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 as adopted by Resolution of the City Council.
Section 4-103. Ward No. 3 is described as follows: Commencing at the
intersection of the Burlington Northern Railroad tracks with the west
City limits, south along the west City limits to the south City limits,
east along the south City limits to Texas Ave S (west City limits),
south along Texas Ave to the Soo Line Railroad property, northeasterly
along the Soo Line property to Dakota Ave S, north along Dakota Ave to
Lake St W, northeasterly along Lake St to Dakota Ave, north along Dakota
Ave to Minnetonka Blvd, west along Minnetonka Blvd to Louisiana Ave S, north
along Louisiana Ave to the Burlington Northern Railroad Tracks, south-
westerly along the Burlington Northern tracks to its intersection with
the west City limits. Ward No. 3 shall be comprised of Voging Precincts
1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 as adopted by Resolution of the City Council.

Section 4-104. Ward No. 4 is described as follows: Commencing at the
intersection of the north City limits with the west City limits, south-
easterly along the west City limits to the Burlington Northern Railroad
tracks, easterly along the Burlington Northern tracks to the Soo Line
Railroad tracks, northeasterly along the Soo Line tracks to the north
City limits, west/northwest along the north City limits to its intersection
with the west City limits. Ward No. 4 shall be comprised of Voting
Precincts 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 as adopted by Resolution of the City Council.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect
September 15, 1992.
