LOUIS PARK MUNICIPAL CODE RELATED TO THE REGULATION AMID LICENSING OF ROLLER SKATING RINKS: AMENDING SECTION 13-465(3) AND ADDING SECTION 13-465(4) THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. The St. Louis Park Municipal Code, Section 13-465(3), is hereby amended, and Section 13-465(4) is hereby added,to read: (3) Any room or premises used for a roller skating rink shall be closed and kept closed to the public, and no person shall be permitted to roller skate therein between the days and hours set forth below and 7 a.m. of the following day. However, on permit of the City Council, such premises may be kept open and roller skating may be carried on therein at all times, except between the hours of 1 a.m. and 6 a.m., in any building so constructed and maintained that sounds from activities within are not audible in adjacent residential areas. Closing Hours. Sunday 8 P.M. Monday 10 P.M. Tuesday 11 P.M. Wednesday 10 P.M. Thursday 11 P.M. Friday 9 P.M. Saturday 10 P.M. (4) Other Regulations. Any room or premises used for a roller skating rink shall provide adequate security and protection for the public safety and welfare by providing: (a) Adequate lighting in and around the parking lot to promote public safety and to discourage loitering and other such activities as may disturb surrounding property. (b) Adequate security to patrol the parking lot during hours of operation and for a reasonable period of time after closing. -2- (c) Signs in the parking lot warning that the parking lot is for the exclusive use of patrons of the roller skating rink; that vehicles not driven by patrons of the rink will be towed. (d) A broadcasted message to all persons inside the roller skating rink, before the close of each session, asking them to exit the premises in a quiet and orderly fashion; to vacate the parking lot quickly and safely; to avoid any activity which might disturb the neighbors. Section 2. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect 15 days after its publication (June 28, 1990).
