ORDINANCE NUMBER 1791-89
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING PARKING RESTRICTIONS DURING PUBLIC WORKS
MAINTENANCE: AMENDING THE ST. LOUIS PARK MUNICIPAL CODE BY
THE ADDITION OF SECTION 10-315.101, "PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE PARKING
RESTRICTIONS"
THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. The St. Louis Park Municipal Code is hereby amended by the
addition of Section 10-315.101 to read:
Section 10-315.101. Public Works Maintenance Parking Restrictions.
No person shall stop, park, or leave standing any vehicle, whether
attended or unattended, upon any public right of way, when right of way has
been posted for parking prohibition during any maintenance within said right
of way. Posting shall consist of temporary signs placed at reasonable
intervals as to be easily acknowledged by the general public and shall be
placed a minimum of 12 hours prior to the scheduled time of maintenance. The
designation of maintenance parking restrictions shall be the responsibility of
the Director of Public Works or an appropriate designee, and may be enforced
by the Police Department, upon request by the Director of Public Works or the
appropriate designee, through the issuance of appropriate citations, and if
required, the towing of the vehicle in violation.
Section 2. Penalty Clause. Violation of this ordinance shall be a
misdemeanor.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect 15 days
after its publication.
