ORDINANCE NO. 1737-88
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ST. LOUIS PARK ORDINANCE CODE
CHANGING BOUNDARIES OF ZONING DISTRICTS
WHEREAS, the City Planning staff initiated a land use study
of the property referred to as the "Virginia Burlington Northern
Property" on December 29, 1983 because of the relative size of
the vacant parcel, potential access issues, and some anticipated
zoning changes which would be necessary to make the zoning
conform to the Comprehensive Plan, and there was a general
feeling that completion and implementation of the study would
provide a better opportunity to maximize the appropriate use for
the property and to minimize any land use impacts;
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission moved to discontinue
the study on January 4, 1984, to permit the Minnesota Pollution
Control Agency to conduct soil testing relating to potential
concerns;
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission recommenced this land use
study in the summer of 1986;
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission deliberated on preliminary
conclusions of this land use study during the fall of 1987, and
approved a final report on January 20, 1988;
WHEREAS, the report approved on January 20, 1988 addresses
a number of land use issues concerning the public health, safety,
and welfare; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission voted unanimously after
proper notice and due deliberation, to recommend rezoning;
THEREFORE, THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK DOES ORDAIN:
