ORDINANCE NO. 1698-86
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE Sr. LOUIS PARK ORDINANCE CODE RELATED TD
LIQUOR LIABILITY INSURANCE BY REVISION OF SECTION 13-120 AND Arm-
TicN OF SECTIO] 13-120.101
THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. The St. Louis Park Ordinance Code is hereby revised by amendment
of Section 13-120 and addition of Section 13-120.101, related to limits of liquor
liability insurance, to read as follows:
Section 13-119. Insurance Required. Applicants for the licenses or
permits listed in this section shall maintain in effect the type of
insurance indicated.

On all required liability insurance, except liquor licenses, the City shall
be named as an additional insured in the policy. The policy shall provide
that the coverage may not be terminated by the insurer except upon ten days'
written notice to the City Clerk, and if such insurance is terminated and
the applicant shall fail to replace the same with another policy conforming
to the requirements of this section, the license shall be automatically sus-
pended until the insurance has been replaced.

Section 13-120. Limits for all liability insurance (excepting liquor) shall
be $100,000 for bodily injury or death of any one person; $300,000 for two
or more persons for the same accident or occurrence; and $50,000 for damage
to property. The limits of liability may be provided in part by an umbrella
excess liability form.
Section 13-120.101. Liquor Liability. Limits for all liquor liability (dram
shop) insurance shall be not less than those prescribed by State Statutes,
Section 340A.409, Subd. 1 (1), Laws 1985: $50,000 per person; $100,000 more
than one person; $10,000 property destruction; $50,000 and $100,000 for loss
of means of support; an annual aggregate policy limit of not less than
$300,000 per policy year.
Section 13-121. General liability insurance shall be written under the
Comprehensive General Liability form, except where otherwise provided.
Automobile Liability insurance shall be written in the Comprehensive form,
including coverage for all owned, hired and nonowned automobiles.

Section 13-122. Approval of the insurance by the city shall not in any way
relieve or decrease the liability of the applicant, and it is expressly
understood that the city does not in any way represent that the specified
insurance or limits of liability are sufficient or adequate to protect the
applicant's interests or liabilities.
Section 13-123. The applicant shall deliver to the city certificates of
all required insurance on a form specified by the city clerk, signed by
an authorized representative and stating that all provisions of the
specified requirements have been satisfied. The certificate shall include
the identity of the insurer handling the errors and omissions coverage
for the agent executing the certificate. The certificate shall be sub-
mitted directly to the city clerk for review and approval by the city
attorney prior to the issuance of the license.
Section 2. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect 15 days
after its publication.
