HomeMy WebLinkAbout1648-85 - ADMIN Ordinance - City Council - 1985/02/04ORDINANCE NO. 1648-85 AN ORDINANCE VACATING PORTIONS OF FACTORY, WESTMORELAND AND SALEM STREETS, SOUTH OF CHICAGO, MILWAUKEE, ST. PAUL AND PACIFIC RAILROAD AND EAST OF HIGHWAY 100 THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. A petition in writing signed by a majority of all of the owners of all property abutting upon both sides of the streets proposed to be vacated has been duly filed with the City Clerk, requesting vacation of the streets, and the City Clerk has furnished a copy of said petition to the City Manager who has reported filing of same to the newspaper, the St. Louis Park Sun/Sailor, on January 7, 1985 as directed by the said notice and has conducted a public hearing upon said petition and has determined that the streets is not needed for public purposes, and that it is for the best interest of the public that said streets be vacated. Section 2. All streets and alleys, including, but not necessarily limited to, Factory, Westmoreland and Salem, as now dedicated and laid out within the corporate limits of the City of St. Louis Park within the following described area or tract are hereby vacated: That part of the Southeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter and that part of the Northeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter and that part of Collins Addition to St. Louis Park all being in Section 6, Township 28, Range 24, Hennepin County, Minnesota lying northerly of BELT LINE INDUSTRIAL PARK and BELT LINE INDUSTRIAL PARK 2ND ADDITION, according to the recorded plats thereof and lying easterly of the easterly right-of-way line of State Highway No. 100 and southerly of the following described line: Commencing at the southeast corner of said Southeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter; thence on an assumed bearing of North 1 degree 14 minutes 46 seconds East along the east line of said Southeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter, a distance of 822.58 feet to the point of beginning of said line; thence south 65 degrees 20 minutes 12 seconds West 2566.30 feet to the intersection with the centerline of State Highway No. 100 and said line there terminating. Reserving, however, to the City of St. Louis Park an easement for storm sewer described in Document No. 3923351, filed December 22, 1971. Section 3. The City Clerk is instructed to record certified copies of this ordinance in the Office of the Hennepin County Register of Deeds or Registrar of Titles as the - case may be. Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect fifteen days after its publication.
