AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ST. LOUIS -PARK ORDINANCE CODE
RELATING TO ZONING BY AMENDING SECTION 14-104, DEFINITIONS,
SUB -SECTIONS (46), (47), (48), (49), (50), (51), (52), (53),
(54), (55), (56), (57), AND (58)
THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. The St. Louis Park Ordinance Code, Section 14-104 is
hereby amended to read:
(46) Setback. A required open space on a lot, which
is unoccupied and unobstructed by a structure
from its lowest ground level to the sky except
as expressly permitted in this ordinance. A
setback shall extend along,a lot line -and at
right angles in such lot line to a depth or
width specified in the setback regulations for.
the district in which such lot is located.
(47) Setback, Front. A setback extending along the
full width of the front lot line between side
lot -lines and extending from the abutting front
street right-of-way line to a depth required in
the setback regulations for the district in which
such lot is -located.
(48) Setback,Rear. A setback extending along the full
width of the rear lot line between the side lot lines
and extending toward the front lot line a depth as
specified in the setback regulations for, the dis-
trict in which such lot is located; provided that
on a lot where an alley is dedicated at the rear of
the lot, seven (7) feet of the width of said alley
may be included in calculating the rear setback
requirements.
(49) Setback, Side. A setback extending along a side
lot line between front and rear setbacks having a
width as specified in the setback regulations for
the district in which such lot is located.
(50) Yard. Open space on a lot which is unoccupied and
unobstructed by a structure from its lowest ground
level to the sky. A yard shall extend along a lot
line and at right angles to such lot line to the
nearest building wall.
(51) Yard, Front. A yard extending along the full width of
the front lot line between side lot lines and extending
from the abutting street right of way to the nearest
building wall.
(52) Yard, Rear. A yard extending along the full width of the
rear lot line between the side lot lines and extending
from the rear lot line to the nearest building wall.
(53) Yard, Side. A yard extending along a side lot line
between front and rear yards.
(54) Lot Width. The distance between the side lot lines measured
at the depth of the front yard required for the district
in which the lot is located.
(55) Townhouses. A single structure consisting of three or more
dwellings having the first story at the ground level with
no other dwellings or portions of other dwellings directly
above or below, with each dwelling connected to the other
dwellings by a single party wall with no openings.
(56) Site Plan. A plan for the development of a tract of land
drawn to scale, including but not limited to the location
and dimensions of all proposed structures; public and private
streets and roadways on or abutting such tract, parking areas,
ground covers; total acreage of the tract, legal description,
number of dwelling units, if any, and number of bedrooms for
each; the floor area and ground floor area of all buildings
and structures; the graphic scale to which the plan is drawn.

Building Face. That portion of the exterior wall of a
structure wnich shall lie in a vertical plane. One face shall
be terminated by an exterior angle of at least two hundred
ten (210) degrees formed by two exterior walls each being at
least eighteen (18) feet in length or a curved portion of
such exterior wall which shall have a central angle of thirty
(30) degrees or more.
Usable Open Space. A required ground area or terrace area
on a lot which is graded, developed, landscaped and equipped
and intended and maintained for either active or passive
recreation or both,available and accessible to and usable by
all persons occupying a dwelling unit or a rooming unit on the
lot and their guests. Such area and improvements shall contain
improvements such as outdoor swimming pools, patio area, game
area, landscaped and grassy areas containing benches,
sculpture gardens, pedestrian paths and trails, or
similar outdoor fixtures or features. The least
dimension of the space so provided shall be 30 feet
or greater. Roofs, driveways and parking areas
shall not constitute usable open space.

Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect fifteen days
after its publication.

vice president and general manager of the newspaper know as The St Louis Park Sun and has ful
kndwledge of the facts herein stated as follows (1) Said newspaper is printed in the English language in
newspaper format and in column and sheet form equivalent in printed space to at least 900 square inches
(2) Said newspaper is a weekly and is distributed at least once every week (3) Said newspaper has 50%
of its news columns devoted to news of local interest to the community which it purports to serve and does
not wholly duplicate any other publication and is not made up entirely of patents, plate matter and
advertisement (4) Said newspaper is circulated in and near the municipalities which it purports tc
serve, has at least 500 copies regularly delivered to paying subscribers, has an average of at least 75%
of its total circulation currently paid or no more than three months in arrears and has entry as second/
class matter in its local post -office (5) Said newspaper purports to serve the City of St Louis Parkl
Golden Valley School District No 275 and Robbinsdale School District No 281 in the County of Hennepir
and it has its known office of issue in the City of Hopkins in said county, established and open during iti
regular business hours for the gathering of news, sale of advertisements and sale of subscriptions ani
maintained by the managing officer of said newspaper or persons in its employ and subject to hi!
direction and control during all such regular business hours and devoted exclusively during such regula
business hours and at which said newspaper is printed (6) Said newspaper files a copy of each issue
immediately with the State Historical Society (7) Said newspaper is made available at single
subscription prices to any person, corporation, partnership or other unincorporated associatio
requesting the newspaper and making the applicable payment (8) Said newspaper has complied with al
foregoing conditions for at least one year preceding the day or dates of publication mentioned below (fi
