ORDINANCE NO. 1466
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ST. LOUIS PARK
ORDINANCE CODE RELATING TO ZONING BY
AMENDING SECTION 14-187(2)(h), PARKING SPACES
THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS PARK DOES ORDAIN:
Sec. 1. The St. Louis Park Ordinance Code,
Section 1-411-87-M(h) is hereby amended to read:

Hospital Bassinets. In hospitals, bassinets shall
not be counted as beds for purpose of calculating the
number of off street parking spaces required.
Benches in Places of Public Assembly. In stadiums,
sports arenas, churches, and other places of public
assembly in which patrons or spectators occupy
benches, pews or other similar seating facilities,
each twenty-two (22) inches of such seating facilities
shall be counted as one (1) seat for the purpose of
determining requirements for off street parking.
(h) Parking Spaces. Each parking space shall not be less
than nine (9) feet wide and twenty (20) feet in length
exclusive of access drives. Except that, when the off-
street parking requirement for any property shall be
fifty (50) spaces or more, compact spaces may be used
to meet a percentage (not to exceed 10%) of the Ordinance
requirements. Each compact space shall be not less than
seven and one-half (71/2) feet wide and fifteen (15) feet
in length. Each parking space shall be adequately served
by access drives. Each parking space shall be designated
by striping on the concrete or asphalt surface. Any
parking space or group of spaces designed for Compact
Cars which are provided as part of the required parking
must be signed for Compact Cars Only.
(i) Use of Parking Facilities. Off street parking facilities
accessory to residential use shall be utilized solely
for the parking of passenger automobiles, exceptthat
for each dwelling unit one (1) truck not to exceed one
and one-half (12) ton capacity may be parked by the
occupant within a building. Under no circumstances
shall parking facilities accessory to residential
structures be used for the open air storage of
commercial vehicles nor for the open air parking of
automobiles belonging to the employees, owners, tenants
or customers of business or manufacturing establishments.
(j) Location of Parking Facilities. Required off street
parking space in the "R-1", "R-2" and "R-3" Districts,
shall be on the same lot as the principal building.
(k) Joint Parking Facilities. Off street parking facilities
for a combination of one (1) or more structures or uses
may be provided collectively in any District, except
"R-1", "R-2" and "R-3" Use Districts, provided that
the total number of spaces provided shall be equal the
sum of the separate requirements of each use.

Sec. 2. This ordinance shall take effect fifteen
days after its publication.

DON R LARSON, being duly sworn, on oatli says he is and during all times here stated has been the
president and printer of the newspaper known as The St Louis Park Sun and has full knowledge of the
facts herein stated as follows (1) Said newspaper is printed in the English language in newspaper
format and in column and sheet form equivalent in printed space to at least 900 square inches (2) Said
newspaper is a weekly and is distributed at (east once every week (3) Said newspaper has 50% of its
news columns devoted to news of local interest to the community which it purports to serve and does not
wholly duplicate any other publication and is not made up entirely of patents, plate matter and
advertisements (4) Said newspaper is circulated in and near the municipalities which it purports to
serve, has at least 500 copies regularly delivered to paying subscribers, has an average of at least 75%
of its total circulation currently paid or no more than three months in arrears and has entry as second-
class matter in its local post -office (5) Said newspaper purports to serve the City of St Louis Park,
Golden Valley School District No 275 and Robbinsdale School District No 281 in the County of Hennepin
and it has its known office of issue in the City of Hopkins in said county, established and open during its
regular business hours for the gathering of news, sale of advertisements and sale of subscriptions and
maintained by the managing officer of said newspaper or persons in its employ and subject to his
direction and control during all such regular business hours and devoted exclusively during such regular
business hours to the business of the newspaper and business related thereto (6) Said newspaper files a
copy of each issue immediately with the State Historical Society (7) Said newspaper is made available
at single or subscription prices to any person, corporation, partnership or other unincorporated
association requesting the newspaper and making the applicable payment (8) Said newspaper has
complied with all foregoing conditions for at least one year preceding the day or dates of publication
mentioned below (9) Said newspaper has filed with the Secretary of State of Minnesota prior to January
1, 1966 and each January 1 thereafter and affidavit in the form prescribed by the Secretary of State and
signed by the managing officer of said newspaper and sworn to before a notary public stating that the
newspaper is a legal newspaper
He further states on oath that the printed Ordinance N O. 1466
hereto attached as a part hereof was cut from the columns of said newspaper, and was printed
and published therein in the English language, once each week, forOne successive weeks,
that it was first so published on Wed' the 11 day of June 19 80
and was thereafter printed and published on every to and including
the day of 19 and that the following is a printed copy
of the lower case alphabet from A to Z, both inclusive, and is hereby acknowledged as being the size and
kind of type used in the composition and publication of said notice, to wit
