LOUIS. PARK ORDINANCE CODE THE CITY COUNCIL OF ST. LOUIS PARK DOES ORDAIN: Sec. 1. Section 8-210 of the St. Louis Park Ordinance Code is amended to read: Open Flame Fires Section 8-210. Open Flame Fires and Cooking Devices; Multiple Dwellings. No person shall set, kindle, maintain or permit any fire or open flame on any balcony of a multiple dwelling or apart- ment building in any barbecue, torch or similar heating, burning or lighting equipment or device unless such building be of Type I or Type II construction as defined in the Uniform Building Code adopted by Section 5:109 of the St. Louis Park Ordinance Code. (1) Definitions. (a) "Cooking device" as used in this section means any barbeque, rotisserie, roaster, oven or similar equipment used in food preparation. (b) "Open flame fire" as used in this section means any burning of fuel, and includes any torch, flare, decorative light, fondue or other heating, burning, or lighting equipment or device having an open flame. (c) "Multiple dwelling" as used in this section means any residential structure other than a single-family dwelling, including a hotel or motel, and including Type I and Type II construction. (2) Prohibition. No person shall use, maintain, store or permit any cooking device or light, set or kindle any open flame fire on any balcony, platform, patio or deck extension of a multiple dwelling of two or more stories including apartment building or hotel/ motel. No room or other place of public assembly shall be decorated with paper or other combustible materials unless such materials have been rendered fireproof. August 15, 1977 Sec. 2. Penalty. Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not more than $300,by imprisonment not to exceed 90 days, or both. Sec. 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect 15 days after its publication. Adopted by the City CounciAugust 15, 1977.
