LOUIS PARK ORDINANCE CODE PROHIBITING NONHANDTCAPPED PERSONS FROM PARKING IN SPACES DESIGNATED FOR THE HANDICAPPED ' BY ADDING A SECTION THE CITY COUNCIL OF ST. LOUIS PARK DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. The St. Louis Park Ordinance Code, Chapter 10, is amended by adding Section 10-316 to read: Section 10-316. Handicapped Parking. (1) No person shall park a motor vehicle in a parking space designated and reserved for the physically handicapped, on either private or public property, unless: (a) That person is physically handicapped in a manner rendering it difficult and burdensome fpr such person to walk or such person was operating the vehicle under the direction of such a physically handicapped person, and (b) The vehicle visibly bears or contains the certificate or insignia issued to physically handicapped persons by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety pursuant to Minnesota Statute Chapter 169.345, subd. 2. Notice of such designation of handicapped parking spaces shall be given by the posting of appropriate signs. In any prosecution charginci a violation of the above provisions, proof of the identity of the registered owner of the particular vehicle described in' the citation or complaint at the time of the violation shall create a prima facie presumption that the individual was the person who parked such vehicle at the point where the violation occurred. (4) A violation of this section shall constitute a petty misdemeanor; Vehicles in violation may be removed, impounded, and kept in custody under the direction of the Chief of Police. 1 c 1 Section 2.
